He came out recently and said he wouldn't go glory hunting.

If Williams stays with the Jazz and signs an extension. Im all for his move. He he decides to shake things up and then decides to bolt. He will turn from my favorite player in the league to the shithead of the universe.

same thing Lebron said
Sloan couldn't take what he preaches I guess
Kaman for AK47?
same thing Lebron said
Lebron promised Cleveland a championship. He always wanted better team mates. I remember him wanting both Allen Iverson before he got traded to Denver and Jason Kidd before he went to Dallas.
Deron to my knowledge has never said any of those things.
???????????????????????
Kaman for AK47?
Don't care much for Kaman, rather trade AK to the Nets for Troy Murphy and someone else.
Congrats Deron. Just got a head coach who had his job 23 years fired. Well done, sir....well done.
First Hosni Mubarak and now Jerry Sloan!
Tunisia has inspired many!
O Really?
O Really?
Get outta Jerry Sloans Cabin
So is he going to retire or what?
O Really?
It's a Loch Ness Monster sighting....Oh wait, it's just Yung D-Will. Long time no see. What's going on?
deron to LA...........+ dwight
deron to LA...........+ dwight

+ Melo, you can have Griffin too, and maybe even Gordon because Kobe is getting old, Walton for Wallace
Anything else?
That's a heck of a legacy Deron has now in Utah: "The guy who got Jerry Sloan to resign".
Nice.
Don't care much for Kaman, rather trade AK to the Nets for Troy Murphy and someone else.
Jeff Foster + Mike Dunleavy for AK and a future pick
Sloan was pissed about D Williams calling his own play, and I think it was one Dwill muffed up on too. Apparently, SLoan doesn't have direct access to hollar at Dwill anymore, or at least not freely. I think O'Conner has to be present or some crap. Sloan had just signed a one year extension. My guess is that Sloan and the assistant probably tried to give Dwill some heat (lol, thru Charlie Vill's tweeter account and got caught - joke in parentheses) or broke some type of truce there.
Sloan had lost ability to reach his two potential stars (Jeff and Deron) so he could no longer be effective. Remarkable he could last that long tho. Remember he was trying to turn Deron into a two guard at one point. And he did convert Al Jefferson into a scrub. He needs a good point guard where ever he lands.
GG Jerry, you'll be missed!
man, utah fans are gonna be p!ssed if deron doesn't sign back now. not a good look. no more flex offense in utah huh? wow. :(
Sad to see him go, specially like this.
Wow. End of an era.
not only the end of an era but the beginning of a huge error. You do not let a coach of his abilities go. Wow! I feel so sorry for the Jazz fans.
Jeff Foster + Mike Dunleavy for AK and a future pick
Wouldn't be totally against that as the Jazz get a bigman and someone to replace AK who's a decent enough 3pt shooter. Plus they're both expiring so you don't have to worry about long term salary cap implications like you do with Kaman. You could still start Jefferson at the 5, but Foster would be a decent guy off the bench for 15-20 minutes (Better then Elson and Fes anyway)
"Thank you, Jerry Sloan. We will now open it up for some questions."
"Jerry, after 23 years as head coach of Utah, the question on everyone's mind is......what do you think will happen with Carmelo Anthony?"

Honestly I think it's a solid deal, helps both teams.

LBJ and Amare & prime Tim Duncan and Jerry West's clone.
Sloan should go to the Lakers if Phil Jackson retires.

You should seriously consider changing your avatar to Jeff Foster

Nice dealing with ya :oldlol:
Honestly, I'm kinda glad Sloan is gone because it means Ty is the head coach which is what I wanted and he most likely would have gotten a head coaching gig elsewhere if Sloan stayed until 2013. However I don't like the way Sloan left, it's a terrible way to end such a great career. I wish he could have finished the season and retired quietly, rather than having this drama and stuff about D-Will getting out.

I honestly think Sloan's somewhat of a relic of days long gone and if he stayed longer his ability to relate to today's players would just get progressively worse. Agreed that this is about the worst way for it to happen though, just gotta assume Sloan was told he wouldn't be back next year and being Sloan probably said alright **** it I'm out then.
Would this type of thing would have happened if Larry Miller was still around instead of Greg Miller? Probably not IMO. Sloan and Larry Miller went hand and hand together.
I bet they were fighting through out the season. Jefferson took about a month to get rolling. Rookie Hayward hasn't done anything yet Sloan kept giving him the minutes and starting spot whenever AK47 was not in the line up. Raja Bell was stinking up the joint for 10 straight games and was never benched. It's been a rocky season.

:oldlol: Someone get me a Photoshop of Foster in a Jazz uni and it'll be done.
tribjazz Brian T. Smith
To be clear: Issues with Sloan weren't just with Williams. Multiple key players have been frustrated with Sloan.
I'm seriously having a minor panic attack. My head hurts, feels like a migraine. My mind out of it, and I'm sad and my eyes watery.
I like both Jerry and Deron. :(
I can't be the only one awaiting all the untold crazy stories to start leaking out, I mean there's 23 years worth. $50 on Jerry, Karl, and John all tag teaming a cheerleader at some point.
