Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
Cleveland got robbed
Chicago was going to let deng walk for the amount of money he was asking for
They now got draft picks out of it I don't think their significantly worse with butler at the 3?
I'm stoked
The best part out of all of this, is we now have a stack of draft picks(we draft really well), really good assets that we can now build for the future.
I liked Deng and his professional attitude, but he was one dimensional and 29 with high mielage. Good luck to your future endeavours Deng

They might look to trade him again :confusedshrug:

Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
One of the picks is basically useless since its the King pick (I think) and it would require them to make the playoffs in the next 2 years :oldlol:

Dion already came out denying trade demands, I love this trade for us.

Re: BREAKING: DENG to Cleveland
Assuming Bynum is included in the deal...if he can get his head straight and buy into Chicago's system, this will be an awesome deal for Chicago

Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
Great deal for the Bulls.

you really have nothing. What you have is 2 2nd rounders and Sacs 1st that is protected. The team sucks so bad that the Bulls will never see it. The team can swap the Cavs 2015 which is also lottery protected. So all I see is the Bulls got Bynum and 2 2nd rounders.

Gorgui's last name is spelled and pronounced differently than Luol's.

So who's going to be the starting centre? Is Joakim gonna hold his starting spot? They can't play them both... :/

Still better than nothing since they were going to let Deng walk once he turned down the extension. Get a few draft picks and some tax savings, it's not amazing, but it's a decent return.

Andrew Bynum IS included in this deal:

Comon man, don't piss on my parade :D
For our team's flexibility? It was well worth it. Deng is 29 and suits a team that can use him as a spot up shooter, like the Cavs will. Deng is the perfect fit for that team, he won't have to be relied upon for offense as much and he can focus more on defense, along with being one of the most well behaved players in the league.
I'm happy for the Cavs too, they got themselves a great player for what they need.

Deng has already shown his abilities -- he's a good
Defensive ability with the ability to be the 3rd/4th offensive option on a great team
The 3/30 offer was above market value -- Chicago would have no option but to let him walk knowing they need the cap space to
Sign a legitimate running mate for rose
The team
Doesn't get any worse with butler at the 3
Cleveland has a good chance of sneaking
Into the bottom of the playoff race and with Chicagos draft history they can get extremely valuable pieces to complete the puzzle on rookie deals
-
Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
The protected picks also offer assets for a future sign and trade (melo )
Which is better than "nothing"

I really don't see how the cavs got anything here unless they plan on paying significantly over market to keep deng ?
Maybe a first round playoff sweep is a victory ?

Re: BREAKING: DENG to Cleveland
That trade was for the picks. In addition Reinsdorf is cheap and won't extend the man so whatever. Andrew Bynum will be WAIVED today. Mark my Flucking words. :pimp: He is a cancer and is too much on the books for Chicago. Boozer is up next... for trade bait. If Booz makes it through the trade deadline he will be amnestied in the off season.
Noah
Gibson
NIKOLA MIROTIC
Dunleavy or Draft Pick
Rose
Hell I say package Boozer, Dunleavy, Teague, for Pau Gasol

Re: TRADE: Cavs trade Andrew Bynum, picks to Bulls for Luol Deng
Since when did trading what will equate to 3 second round picks (Sac pick will never be given they're not gonna be out of the lottery the next 2 years) become getting fleeced? Deng is a superior player to Gasol and we have nothing at the 3 while being overstocked in the 4/5 department
-
Re: BREAKING: DENG to Cleveland
People constantly contradict themselves when it comes to the Bulls FO.
We paid Jay Williams even though we didn't have to
We payed Ben Wallace a lot of money for next to nothing
We gave rose his payday
We paid Boozer
We paid Deng
We paid Noah
Yet we are a cheap franchise.

What does deng do you beyond this season? Do you
Resign a 30 year old deng to the 3/38 deal he wants?
Where does the team go with deng on It this year?
I don't see any value? Let's say you
Win 6 more games -- what difference does It make ?

When people are saying we are cheap, they are talking about how the organisation annually stays under the salary cap except the last few years. But yes, you are right in that aspect. We do pay for the good players, when it is required.

well that's for drafting bennett .. you would have a real 3 of that pick was someone else or if what traded...
i dont know maybe the bulls can get the #1 pick again...

Okay what would Pau or Jefferson do? Even less. Yea okay that's a real fair comparison I was unaware that second round picks could net you the first pick in the draft.
Edit: How do people lack such basic understanding of basketball that Sac pick has fairly heavy protections on it and the swap is lottery protected.

You have consider age and position
22 year old promising center v
30 year old swing man
Potential has a lot of value in the nba -- especially with big men ( darko , asik, James jones , etc)

Fingers crossed he stays with you guys and accepts 8-10 mill.
I think he's the type of guy that would. He would see a future with the cavs and their talent.

Re: BREAKING: DENG to Cleveland
Great for Cavs if they can sign Deng to a good deal in offseason.
-
Re: BREAKING: DENG to Cleveland
CBS reporting it's the kings heavily protected pick (this year) and 2 2nd rounders. And the right to swap 1sts in 2015. I was worried for the cabs when I saw 3 future picks but that's not too bad.
