Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Countdown
Fps games can get praise if they do things right. Look at wolfenstein new order. Theres a shit ton of open world games that sucked and were reviewed bad too. Rockstar make high quality games it isn't a bias its just that halo has done nothing new in its last few iterations. Its a popcorn action game with no substance.

COD ruined the FPS genre
That's why FPS gets shat on these days
Besides
Everything COD is came from Halo

What does that have to do with anything?
Pretty sure I already exposed your dumb ass earlier by outlining who directed which games at Naughty Dog.
I'm not explaining it again to your ignorant ass.
Fact is, we've ALREADY seen the game-play footage and it looks spectacular (as always). Amy was the leader for Drake's Fortune and Deception; two inferior games to (Uncharted 2 & TLOU).
In other words; BOTH games that Bruce was the lead on won GAME OF THE YEAR [The Last of Us & Uncharted 2]. Amy won jack shit with her titles.
Sure she would have helped (with her writing) but Bruce already proved he doesn't need her to create an all-time great game [The Last of Us].
Keep hoping and praying bud, the greatness arrives on March, 2016.
Naughty Dog Hires The Order: 1886 Environment and Lighting Artists for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Naughty Dog has entered the final phase of development of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and since the release date on March 18th isn’t so far away, they hired new talent to help. Given that we’re talking about graphics, they went to find it among some of the best in the field.
The house of Uncharted recently hired David Budlong and Huan Tran, who worked respectively as an Environment Artist and Lighting Artist on The Order: 1886.
Budlong was the primary environment modeler for several levels of Ready at Dawn’s beautiful game. Tran took care of the in-engine lighting of environments, characters and cinematics, including the Whitechapel Hospital, which featured some absolutely masterful lighting, creating an eerie and really creepy atmosphere.

Naughty Dog Hires Extremely Talented Artist for Uncharted 4; Check Out His Awesome Artwork and Videos
Naughty Dog has always been well known for attracting extremely talented artists and developers, and this month they hired another that definitely fits the bill, Andrew Maximov. They also didn’t waste any time and already put him at work on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End according to his linkedin profile.
We learn that Maximov is an expert with Unreal Engine 4, physically based rendering, shader creation, scripting, particle effects and also works on concept art. He can “set up some of the most efficient art production pipelines in the industry, fully including next gen” and do “Lighting-fast full environment production (ideation, conception, blockout, modeling, texturing, shaders, set dressing, lighting & atmospherics)”
Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Countdown
It goes
1. Halo
2. MGS
3. Uncharted
The more games of a franchise you make, the harder it becomes to keep at the top of the game with the critics
Halo 1 - 97 Metacritic
Halo 2 - 95 Metacritic
Halo 3 - 94 Metacritic
Halo Reach - 91 Metacritic
Halo 4 - 87 (Was 90 but dropped after 343 made a public comment saying they were happy with 90)
Halo 5 - Predicted to be 93-97 range
Uncharted 1 - 88
Uncharted 2 - 96
Uncharted 3 - 92
Those numbers don't stack up to Halo... 3 games in and already dropping into the 80's
MGS is the only true contender against Halo
MGS 1 - 94
MGS 2 - 96
MGS 3 - 91
MGS 4 - 94
MGS 5 - 93

I also love how you included Drake's Fortune but omitted ODST and Halo Wars. :oldlol: Why? Because they got 83 & 82 scores.
You're also omitting MGS games that received lower scores like Peace Waker (89), The Twin Snakes (85), Substance (87). :facepalm
Nice way to manipulate the information buddy.
Bottom line, the people that are working on Uncharted 4 are the same people that created U2 & TLOU.
TLOU - 95
U2 - 96
User Scores
Drake's Fortune - 81
Uncharted 2 - 88
Uncharted 3 - 83
TLOU - 91
Halo - 86
Halo 2 - 81
Halo 3 - 78
Halo Reach - 79
Halo 4 - 70 [Ouch]
Plus, you should really consider the number of reviews each game gets.
For example, even though MGS & Halo have a similar rating to Uncharted 2, consider the amount of critic reviews each of those games got.
U2 - 105 reviews (96 score)
MGS - 42 reviews (96 score)
Halo - 68 (97 score)
The more reviews a game gets, the lower its score becomes.
It's a known fact, it's just harder to impress more people.
For example,
Uncharted 2 - 96.43% (82 reviews)
Halo - 95.54% (78 reviews)
MGS - 95.09% (68 reviews)

By the way, you can thank you precious Amy Henning [that you guys claim the greatest] for ruining Uncharted's reputation by developing Uncharted 1 & 3. :oldlol:
-
Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Countdown
Because Halo Wars and ODST were neither big projects that were hyped up as the other main installments
ODST was essentially a DLC and Halo Wars had nothing to do with the main series... It is a RTS
If Uncharted had any non main title games I would not have used them in the score
ODST was essentially throwing the fans a bone while they waited for Reach. That's why the had the beta to Reach with it
-
Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Countdown
So Halo still is more critically acclaimed, despite being in the most oversaturated genre in gaming... And selling record numbers
-
Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Countdown
Who cares.
Halo, Uncharted & MGS are household names.
3 of the greatest franchises ever.
I think this argument started with people asking me why I think Uncharted 4 will be epic, and I think I've already covered my reasoning.
Now lets wait and see.
PP was a great game, as expected.
Now it's Halo's turn (I bet it flops, :oldlol: ).
And the best is always saved for last, Uncharted 4.
-
Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Countdown
The Twin Snakes is a shitty Gamecube remake and Substance is a re-release of MGS 2 with some very subtle added features.
Un-fvcking-lucky mate.

It really isn't that simple. Amy is a huge part of the Uncharted team, and I'd rather listen to people who are actually working on the fvcking game than a dumb fanboy like you. Her departure has clearly made a big impact, even Nolan North is like "ehhh... well... eh.... it's different?"
The Last of Us =/= Uncharted
Like GIF_REACTION said, it's starting to sound a little like the development process behind Destiny. Not saying it'll be as barebones and dry as vanilla Destiny was, but you're expectations are WAY too high. You're only setting yourself up for disappointment.

Re: Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Countdown
Halo 5 should be a 94-96 but because FPS is so over-saturated these days and everyone likes to hate on Halo, especially sony fanboys, there will be plenty of clickbait shit tier reviews
Uncharted simply doesn't face the same scrutiny as bigger franchises.

Wow, you are really comparing U4 to Destiny?
Neither of you guys follow ND because you clearly aren't big fans of their games, so why don't you guys take my word for it when I say everything will be okay.
Bruce is the mastermind at Naughty Dog, there's a reason he was the lead for both GOTY's that ND produced. Amy was the writer, that is what she was great at. She build the foundation for the uncharted series, however, she had no part in TLOU. This game, by many is considered a better written game than Uncharted. The fact that Bruce was the lead on developing Uncharted 2, makes me confident that U4 will be epic.
They are also taking over 4 fiscal years to develop this game, so I know they are doing their due diligence. Titles like MGS, Halo & Uncharted are world-renowned, there's no way they will ever really fail.
This isn't UBISOFT and Assassin Creed; where they just care about the money and releasing a new game every year. These developers truly care about their projects, which is why I fully expect Halo, Witcher 3 & PP compete for GOTY and U4 compete for GOTY in 2016.
I'll end the arguments here, lets regain focus on talking about everything Uncharted 4.

Destiny was a new IP though, Uncharted is not.
That's the big difference.
Plus Destiny didn't suck, it was disappointing. It just looked and felt a lot like Halo, with very little content.
From everything I've seen so far (demo, gameplay); Uncharted 4 looks spectacular.

Too early to call GOTY when it hasn't even been released and we don't even have the full schedule for 2016 releases.
