"Trump says mean words all the time..."
Yea, at his enemies. When he's being attacked or forced to go on the offensive. Musk and Trump are supposed to be friends.
If it's really just a bill you're worried about and you wanted to have a rational discussion in the hopes of reaching an arrangement, and you just want what's best for the country... you don't go about it like this. That's not how you settle a disagreement with your friends. You're the one who backed his campaign and propped this guy up as a savior in the first place.
In short, when parents are about get divorced, they're not supposed to fight in front of the kids.
The change in attitude is too noticeable and it calls his motivation into question.
So you really did think that Musk was a good actor all along?

I don't trust any of them. Nobody who climbs the mountain that high can have fully clean hands. This is the same guy who said he voted for Brandon in 2020. Musk was an ally and brought meaningful positive change, so his motivation didn't matter to me.
The same also applies to Trump.

When it comes to the art of the deal...
Trump has a reputation of stabbing people in the back after the back door deal is made.
Let's hope for America's sake... this doesn't apply to Israel.

Motivation should matter though. Because as we’re currently seeing, the actions can change at the drop of a hat when interests are threatened.

They both have equal or similar motivations. The difference is that Elon is not a politician, Biden is. Their skill sets are very different.

Yes in an ideal situation intention would matter but last time I checked Jesus Christ and Clark Kent aren't running for office. These are mortal men.
Not only that but there are always going to be political entanglements beyond their control that compromise their decision making in some capacity. No one at that level is free to do whatever they want to do and act with total impunity.
MAGA voters never had a problem with this. We knew who Donald Trump was from the outset. We didn't care. We voted for him on the strength of his policies, not the strength of his character. It was the left who was obsessed with his character and swore up and down he wasn't morally fit to hold office.
The left thought it was very important that the president be a decent and honorable person. That's why they nominated Barry, Killary, Brandon and The Cackler. All just honest to god good people who never lied and never did anything corrupt.

See, this is where you lose me. I don’t doubt that this is your perspective and your motives for voting for him, and that’s completely respectable and fine. But you are completely ignorant if you don’t think that there is an enormous faction of his base that voted for him because of his style. Most people don’t know shit about his actual policies and how they affect their lives. They just liked that he publicly shat in the people they don’t like and said all the right things in an apparently respectable bravado.
To sum it up: speak for yourself and not the MAGA base. There are always going to be things you miss when you do that.

Lol so I'm not in tune with the MAGA base but you are? Are you even MAGA to begin with?
It's funny because on one hand you're like "No one person should speak for Trump's base!"... but on the other hand you're like "I'll tell you what Trump voters are REALLY about!". As usual you guys speak out of both sides of your ass.
And yes wokism was one of the key issues for Trump voters so of course his voters like it when he humiliates woke democrats. His stance on wokism is one of the reasons I voted for him as well.

Re: Trouble in paradise? Musk slams Trump's "big beautiful bill"
When does society wake up and realize that the Government is not in charge of "wokeness"? Were Nixon and LBJ in charge of the hippie movement?

Gov stances on this type of thing actually cause an opposite effect. Biden made people dislike wokeness, and Trump is making people go back to it.
Anyone who voted for Trump under the illusion that he would singe handedly kill wokeness is the retard.

So the civil rights act of 1964 had the opposite effect as well? When Title II banned racial discrimination in hotels, restaurants, theaters, and other public places based on race... it started happening more frequently?
If a government endorsement achieves the opposite effect, what is even the point of fighting for legislation? If the goal of the woke movement was to gain mainstream acceptance, why did they advocate so strongly for government intervention?
Are you saying that woke democrats are all retards who only know how to work against their own interests?

Re: Trouble in paradise? Musk slams Trump's "big beautiful bill"
Biden made people gravitate away from wokeness and Trump makes people gravitate toward it. Both have an opposite effect.
People who are like "woke-woke" don't like Biden. He is just more establishment to them. They don't even view him as a leftist.

You're not making any sense at all.
So if Trump is great for wokism, why are all the woke people so upset? Why cry over him banning boys in girls sports at the federal level if it's going to have the desired opposite effect?

Buffalo Bill Gates insists that government doesn't play a role in normalizing behaviors or beliefs.
So then why complain about any of these federal rulings? Who cares what's on the books?

Physically threatened, with his kid being the next target. It's just something to keep an open mind about.

Looks like Musk is walking back his tweets and looking to get back in Orange Face's good graces.

I mean it looks like Musk is bending the knee but who knows maybe those Epstein tweets got Trump's attention got him to the bargaining table. Then again maybe Musk bit off more than he could chew. At this point I don't think anyone could even venture a guess as to what's really going on, who's telling the truth, who's posturing, etc.
I guess the commentators on the right will pretend like this never happened and act like they're besties again. Meanwhile the lefties can commence with the Tesla burning and the endless screeching again.

This. I don't hate or love Musk, but if one thing is true about him is that he has knee jerk reactions without thinking about the consequences of his actions. There's nothing abnormal about that when you're a multi-billionaire. I'm sure it happens everyday of their lives.

Actually they found a way to disrupt the hippie movie movement and give it a bad reputation. Not everything is done the legal way by the folks up top.

Musk seems to have a short fuse and tends to say dumb shit when hes mad.
