[URL="https://www.sltrib.com/sports/jazz/2023/01/14/delta-center-is-back-utah-jazz/"]The Utah Jazz announced Saturday that they have entered into a long-term naming rights deal with Delta Air Lines, the Atlanta-based airline with a hub at Salt Lake City International Airport.[/URL] The arena will continue to be referred to as Vivint Arena until July 1, 2023, when the changeover will officially take place.

Vivint Smart Home purchased the naming rights to the stadium for 10 years in 2015. (In 2020, the “Smart Home” part of the arena name was dropped.) Vivint’s deal was not set to expire until 2025. However, concurrently with the Delta arrangement, Vivint agreed to a new sponsorship agreement with the Smith Entertainment Group, the company that owns the Jazz and the arena. [URL="https://www.sltrib.com/sports/jazz/2023/01/14/delta-center-is-back-utah-jazz/"]Under the renegotiated deal, which extends through the 2030 season, Vivint will retain the rights to its courtside suite, along with in-game promotions, advertising packages, and digital ads placed on the court during the team’s TV broadcasts[/URL].

I’ve heard [URL="https://www.si.com/nba/2023/01/13/nba-trade-deadline-teams-to-watch-lakers-wizards-jazz-raptors"]the Lakers and Pistons have discussed a deal that would include both Bogdanović and Nerlens Noel.[/URL] Since the Pistons are demanding draft assets in any deal for Bogdanović, it’s sort of a given that the Lakers would have to surrender a first-round pick to make a deal. Maybe they make a second deal to fortify the rotation further. Will they be willing to trade both picks that are currently trade-eligible? The sense around the league is they won’t. But we’ll see.

Last week, NBA Insider Marc Stein reported that Clarkson had “rebuffed” the Jazz extension offers amid a career year with the franchise.
The Jazz are limited on the size of extension they can offer Clarkson during this season, and risk losing the high-scoring guard in unrestricted free agency when it opens in July.
With Russell, the Jazz would get a $31 million expiring contract, and get out from underneath the $24 million Conley is owed next season, over $14 million of which is guaranteed.
Danny Ainge, Justin Zanik, and Will Hardy could also use the final three months of the NBA season to see how the 26-year-old Russell fits with the current roster, and if he would be a suitable long-term option to pursue this summer.
