Well, our D should be good, but imagine Rubio and Exum on court together? Wouldn't be able to hit the side of a barn!
They didn't want to/couldn't pay George Hill $25 million a year for his 50 games, so I guess this is the next best alternative I guess to potentially keep Hayward happy, especially if it gives them enough space to keep Ingles too.

Imagine a line-up of Exum, Rubio, Favors and Gobert. Jerry ball returns! I'd guess Favors has to go now for sure or he'll be coming off the bench and demand to go.
I think Ingles needs to go if Hayward stays for some reason. Might as well keep him if the lottery is the goal I guess though.

Rubio was teammates and roommates with Jazz wing Joe Ingles when the pair played in Barcelona in 2010 before Rubio came to the NBA. Jazz draftee Donovan Mitchell also welcomed Rubio to the Jazz.
All I know is Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey had to make Friday's move. Imagine the reaction in the coming days if the Jazz had lost Hayward and Hill in free agency, without anyone to replace either of them.
Rather have Neto starting
What's clear at the moment is Rubio is better than any other point guard on the Jazz's current roster
no it's not
Lindsey didn't have to trade Rodney Hood or Derrick Favors to get him
Probably rather have the pick especially now that they are tanking again
So the only way anyone could criticize this trade is to say confidently that Hayward was convinced that Hill would re-sign with the Jazz, and then Hill actually would do so, and then Hill would remain healthy at age 31 in 2017-18 and for years to come, unlike last season. That's connecting a lot of dots.
but those dots make sense. These do not
And why wouldn't Hayward like Rubio? He's a true point guard who will set up his teammates
because Rubio's defender will be doubling Hayward
he just has to play better than Hill's potential replacement in free agency
