Re: Chris Paul Has To Be Restrained From Entering Boston's Locker Room
Theres nothing wrong with trash talk. Pauls just a *****. If he's unhappy on that team, don't resign and wait till you can leave.

switch them up...just one game...
Re: Chris Paul Has To Be Restrained From Entering Boston's Locker Room
I don't know what happened during the game, but Rondo clearly went after Paul to tell him something after the game was finished, which looks like it was what got the worst out of Paul. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbtokYW98is)
Trash talk is fine as an ingame strategy. And once the game is finished, no need to be friends, but going directly to another player to talk sh*t after everything is settled? Well...
Both Rondo and Paul have grown reputations of being annoying characters on the court, but if Rondo actually went over to Paul to tell him about the rings after the game, then he went overboard.
Re: Chris Paul Has To Be Restrained From Entering Boston's Locker Room
Chris Paul is a hundred times better than Rondo and that gap will never close. Rondo needs to keep his mouth shut and respect his peers in the league, especially ones so much better than he is. I can't believe anyone would even compare the two to be honest.
CP3 is averaging 21ppg more than Rondo is for crying out loud.
Re: Chris Paul Has To Be Restrained From Entering Boston's Locker Room
I respect Paul and I can definitely understand his frustration. He is doing everything he can to win, and they just aren't. His team sucks. I wish he hadn't signed that extension. He deserves better. I've never liked Rondo, and I don't think I ever will.

Go to the previous page. I posted an article which explained what Rondo said to set CP off.

rondo and paul need to grow up. sad
Re: Chris Paul Has To Be Restrained From Entering Boston's Locker Room
i heard they got the towel boy to hold cp3 back.
Re: Chris Paul Has To Be Restrained From Entering Boston's Locker Room
The line drawn between Paul and Rondo, on a scale of their overall impact as players for their respective teams, is an easy one to observe. Paul is the Hornets' one and only hope for any form of relative franchise success in almost EVERY facet of their game. Rondo fell into an obviously comfortable situation but has also met the challenge of that situation head on. Continually excelling with each season. He could have just as easily crumbled under the weight of running the point for three all-stars, but he hasn't.
You can't really compare the two because they bring something entirely different to the table. Rondo acknowledges and accepts his role with Boston and Paul has stepped into his position as the star and go-to guy for New Orleans.
Rondo, on any other struggling team with weak offense, would likely focus a great deal more on his offensive game. He'd spend the off season polishing that jump shot and the outcome might be entirely different stats than what he puts up now. Way too many 'what if's' to draw any real, definitive conclusion about Rondo's impact on a team like the Bobcats, Thunder, etc...
Either way, this beef is probably overblown. It's been said Rondo has a bit of an attitude, but I doubt Paul is entirely innocent in the situation, too.

You realize racking up points isn't even a necessary part of Rondo's game, right? He doesn't have to put up 20+ points a night. Using that as leverage to discredit him as a player doesn't really carry much weight.
Re: Chris Paul Has To Be Restrained From Entering Boston's Locker Room
Rondo could probably average 15+ if it was required of him with his ability to penetrate and speed on the break. And he does rebound and defend at a far higher level than CP. But overall, no, he's not as good.
Re: Chris Paul Has To Be Restrained From Entering Boston's Locker Room
Not really "restrained". And of course it turns into a rondo vs. Chris thread.
Re: Chris Paul Has To Be Restrained From Entering Boston's Locker Room
You can not base their comparison on ppg alone. Rondo doesn't need to be a scorer. He distributes the ball, plays D, rebounds, etc. Does anyone remember him practically averaging a triple double in the playoffs last year? On a separate note, does anyone have CP3's contract info?

He doesnt rebound at a higher rate.
