depends on a lot of things... some people grow a few inches after their freshman year while otehres are pretty much done growing. if you got some growing ahead of you.... i think a sub 2 minute could be a fair goal.
2:05 is what i ran at state that year and i was pretty uch last out of the whole field. and i grew up in alaska where the track season is rediculously short
Yeah I've definitely got some growing left, I'm only 5'11 and the other 3 guys in my family are all 6'2+. Also the last 2 years track was just something to pass the time, and now in HS its actually getting pretty fun. Oh and my mile time is pretty bad, I never run it.
Also for my location, I live in the U.P. so theres not a whole lot of competition. The school records for the 400 and 800 are 51.2 and 1:58 so I'm going to try and at least get close to one of those by the time I graduate.
Ran Cross Country for three years, made sub-sections (second round I guess?) my sophomore year. I also did Track and Field for three years. Did high, long, and triple jump and got MVP my sophomore year. I come from a small-ish town so my measurements were not outstanding by any means, they were just good considering the lack of elite athletes we produce. I also played ball for one year, stopped playing since I wasn't a big fan of the coach. And because I sucked.

Meh, im not living in the past. Even if I am its only one year ago. Besides, college is way way way better then highschool ever was or ever will be, period. This is the best part of my life without a doubt right now as far as little responsibility + lots of freetime + females. I just was very thorough about my resume is all :lol
However, playoffs I stepped up or got lucky and scored 10, 9 and 14 points to win the district championship that year. If I didnt have that confidence from that year I doubt I would have continued to work has hard as I did in basketball. The highschool varsity team won state that year.
It's all about the playoffs. You stepped your game up when it mattered most.
:pimp:

And then fell on my face for the state championship game :oldlol:
Meh, I was on the undefeated team that won the chip, I have no regrets.

Seems appropriate.
I had a friend was a big baseball player
Back in high school
He could throw that speedball by you
Make you look like a fool boy
Saw him the other night at this roadside bar
I was walking in, he was walking out
We went back inside sat down had a few drinks
But all he kept talking about was
Glory days well they'll pass you by
Glory days in the wink of a young girl's eye
Glory days, glory days
.....
Now i think i'm going down to the well tonight
And i'm going to drink till i get my fill
And i hope when i get old i don't sit around thinking about it
But i probably will
Yeah, just sitting back trying to recapture
A little of the glory of, well time slips away
And leaves you with nothing mister but
Boring stories of glory days
fits me.. not gonna deny it.. i am far from what i was in high school....
oh well as you grow up other things become more important...
bump for new posters?
I played HS basketball in IL and IN. Varsity my soph year and junior year and quit my senior year because i hated my coach and the towns we played in. I had already gotten calls and offers from d-2, d-3 (well 2 or 3 tops, lol) schools and figured that's all I would get so I focused on academics.
I played two years of baseball and despite not playing my senior year i still got an offer from a small school in Wisconsin. I was pretty flattered.
Played everything in my freshman year, but then i realized i live in Macedonia and its pointless to lose energy on sports so i started studying.
I still play basketball and soccer with friends almost every day but nothing competitive
My biggest accomplishment is probably running 11.14 in 100 metres
Ran Cross Country and Track all four years in high school. Still do in college.
Marching Band. Euphonium. 4 years.
Marching Percussion. Snare Drum. 2 years.
2 Regional Championships
1 State Championship
4 Finals Appearances and tbh we got jipped out of a repeat for State.
I had a decision to make. MB demands all your time and effort during season, and MP does the same. So I was not going to be able to do both music and basketball. I choose music. It took me to China for the Olympics and helped get me my job so... no regrets.
But I would have liked one year just to see what I was capable of in organized competition. But such is life, decisions must be made.
To be completed.
