I just feel like they really, really overpaid. No way he's worth nearly $6 million a year.
They did overpay but he will do a good job and make their interior alot better than it was last season.
True, Boston are better suited to guard L.A this year compared to last season. Boston are older but size wins in the playoffs. Doesn't matter how good you are on the permeter if you don't have good size.
The Jordan Bulls' main defense strength was on perimeter. I think you have to have serviceable bigs, but it's not a must that you're main strength defensively is in the post.

The Bulls are the last time who did win without having any interior threats. You need size and post play to win titles. Permeter play is not enough no matter how good your permeter players are. There is a reason why all the past champions had legit size.

The thing is LeBron and Wade are really not "perimeter players".
They attack the rim at will and now that you can't double/triple team them nearly as much ... good luck keeping them out of the lane.
And Bosh at least offensively can be a dominant post scorer. He is not an easy cover for any post player in the NBA.
They will have to work on their D though to make sure they are defensively tough enough.
Too much guards :banghead:
I expected Ainge to sign another SF instead of another guard.
Those who are saying that he'll be a good replacement for TA is an idiot. Dude is undersize to guard an SF :facepalm

They are still not post players or defend the interior so even though they are great players they are permeter based. Bosh is a talented player and very good face to the basket player but he isn't a post player or play in the post.
Miami are super talented with their big 3 but size, length and post play is what has won titles over the past several years. Their big 3 are going to need to play great shooting the ball to win the title due to their lack of size and length.
It's called being bi-polar. And you can't really "fix" who you are.
Yeah, he's bi-polar right? There are treatments to the disorder. I thought he was going to take the season off to help with his bi-polar.

Boston is looking great this year, completely stacked.
Excellent move for the Celtics. We all know he is unstable, but the Celtics have enough dept to weather the storm if he does not work out. It would be a bad signing if they were relying on him to be a starter, but honestly whatever he brings will be a huge bonus. If he can remain stable, he can be a huge lift iff the bench and he could be a good back up for either ray or Rondo. West could very well turn into Boston's best pickup this offseason
I am liking the Boston offseason. They knew they were very close last year, so they kept their core intact and they picked up some good help. Shaq is old, but he was still contributing last season, so I think he is going to be a great addition. JO struggled mightily in the playoffs, but he will not command the ball on offense like he was forced to last year with Miami. Bit over payed, but they know they need bigs to help the frontline.
Damn....they got Rondo, Donkey, and now red.
To go along with their bigs....Perkins, Shaq, KG and Jermaine.
Throw in Ray and the Truth.....
This team is mad deep.
I can imagine that Doc will get in West's ear to "talk" to LeBron. :oldlol:
I like it, West can play............but a lot of midgets now. West, Rondo, Donkey, Bradley (although he wont play much)...
