Re: Players you thought were gonna be Stars
Quentin Richardson
Ricky Davis
TJ Ford
Larry Hughes
All deserve a mention.
And as much as I hate to admit it because I really like the guy Grant Hill. Too many injuries
He was a star to me before the injuries, quite sad really, he was one of my favourite players
Re: Players you thought were gonna be Stars
Seems like Tyrus Thomas is a common theme here. Really had high hopes for the guy.
Re: Players you thought were gonna be Stars
to the couple of people saying demarcus cousins, give him a while to develop and adjust
hes only playing 25 mins a game so you have to take that into account
he obviously an idiot but look at rasheed, he was an idiot but was successful
hes already 12th in the nba in rebounds per 48 min, has good touch around the rim, and a big strong body, I still think he can be a fringe all-star player
Re: Players you thought were gonna be Stars
Mike Bibby
Andre Iguodala
Andre Miller
Marcus Camby
O.J Mayo
Greg Oden
Andrew Bogut
Monta Ellis
Re: Players you thought were gonna be Stars
What did you expect out of Bibby?
Re: Players you thought were gonna be Stars
Going to show my age here, but based on what I saw in their rookie season:
1) Joe Smith - I'm a Maryland guy, so to me, he was > Sheed and Duncan when he competed against them in the ACC. His 1st season in GS was great, just surprised that he leveled out so early in his career.
2) Clarence Weatherspoon - The next Sir Charles...I never saw it. They were both sixers and forwards and that's the extent of the comparison. He was more workman like in his approach...solid but not spectacular.
3) Billy Owens and Walt Williams - They were "Magic Johnson" types...the next wave of versatile guard/forwards. See Joe Smith comment above.
Re: Players you thought were gonna be Stars
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Andrea Bargnani... seriously the guy was projected to be the next Dirk
Gerald Green

I remember watching footage of him while he was a highschool senior thinking he was going to be SUPERSTAR. Green had it all the shot, athleticism, handles, quickness, great height for a swingmen and the swag to be a NBA Superstar. His game reminded me of Tracy McGrady both had the size, athleticism, and the handles.
Than on the draft i remember him falling to the Celtics (Green was projected to be a top 10 pick) but fall to the 18th pick. I thought Boston got a steal with this pick. :facepalm :facepalm
Gerald Green is now playing in Euro Cup and Russia his stats look good, hope he can make it back to the NBA.

Who were the players you thought were gonna be stars?
I thought he would be the next McGrady as well.
I thought Sebastian Telfair and JJ Redick would be big time.

it was a pretty bad draft, so he looked better than he really was, and being the no. 1 pick of that draft doesnt say a lot

Splitter used to dominate him at Europe.

Good one... he had a decent career but he was capable of beasting and just didn't do it consistently enough to really be a star. Killed the Lakes frequently enough tho :lol just not the rest O the L.
I think he had footspeed problems. Sort of like late career Steve Smith. Just a half step slow enough that he is containable.
My pick go's to Brendan Haywood. Watching him on the tar heels he seemed to have everything a big needs save maybe handle & a J... 15, 11 and 1.5 type NBA guy?
Nope. 6 pts and 7 boards and who cares how much he blocks.

Adam Morrison, Sean May, and Greg Oden.

Andrew Bogut
Jonathan Bender
Emeka Okafor
Nick Young
Travis outlaw
Jason Richardson
