LeBron didn't have to leave Terry until Dirk motioned for his shot. LeBron didn't even do anything, he just stood there. Plus, Terry was three feet away from the 3-point arc too. His 3 would have been a lot harder than Dirk's.

so, lets say lebron leaves terry as dirk motions for his shot (firstly, if he leaves that late, he doesnt stand a chance at contesting), dirk is gonna notice that he has two players running at him, and swing it to a wide open terry, who steps into a three. a much easier shot than dirk actually took in real life.
