Sad part is he probably could have, had he played more within the realm of the offense and didn't force up so much crap. The biggest difference between the two is their brains
- thier TS% difference is only 2%.....whoopptity doooo dahhhhh!!!
- if only Kobe shot 2% higher the Lakers could have won 10 championships by now....

Re: Kobe has missed 15,296 shots. The most in NBA history.
- the defense was also played much different...and yes perimeter players didn't take as many outside ( 15'+ beyond from the rim) shots...but IMo and everyone who actually watched the games...teh defense has changed alot since the 80's / mid 90's
- John Havlicek shot 43%. Never shot a 3 in his career... or at least not when it was in the NBA.
Hayes shot 45%. Made 5 3pointers in his career at a whopping 14%...you are lacking in the basic fundemental of recognizing game.....
- again , Lebron James is still only 1 player.....the 2010 cutoff was to show the era's.....even still Lebron is still only 1 player ......and Marion didn't do it...so it's still only a very few players vs nearly 30 in the Jordan era...
- actually Kobe will break the alltime scoring record in 3 more seasons...( passing MJ next season)..18 seasons vs 15 seasons???....in context MJ did it in 3 less seasons.....but Kobe also played less minutes his first 2 years
- and "HIGH PERCENTAGE" is a moot point
This is the list of guards/small forwards who shot over 50% and had 20+ PPG during MJ's era(1985-1998).
Michael Jordan - 6 times
Chris Mullen - 6 times
Adrian Dantley - 4 times
Kiki Vandewedge - 4 times
Reggie Miller - 3 times
James Worthy - 3 times
Alex English - 3 times
Dale Ellis - 3 times
Magic Johnson - 2 times
Penny Hardaway - 2 times
Kevin Johnson - 2 times
Clyde Drexler - 2 times
Cedric Ceballos - 2 times
Mark Aguirre - 2 times
Gary Payton - once
Byron Scott - once
Rolando Blackman - once
Walter Davis - once
Jeff Hornacek - once
Otis Birdsong - once
Jeff Malone - once
George Gervin - once
Drazen Petrovic - once
Reggie Lewis - once
Derek Smith - once
Scottie Pippen - once
And here is the list of guards/small forwards who shot over 50% and had 20+ PPG during the post-Lockout era(2000-2010).
Lebron James - once
Chris Paul - once
Tony Parker - once
Monta Ellis - once
Shawn Marion - once
So in MJ's era it was done 56 times by 26 different players.
from 2000- 2010 it has been done only 5 times by 5 different players....a totally different era ..especially for perimeter players.
Why did you cut it off at 2010? :biggums:
Wade had 25 PPG on 50% shooting the next year, Durant missed it by .004 last year (currently at 52% this year) and the best player on the planet is on a current 4 year streak of shooting over 50% at 20PPG+. All you've proven is that Kobe isn't as good as Lebron, as if we needed more proof :lol
And as someone who is capable of critical thinking already showed, the 3 is now more prominent in the NBA than it was in previous eras, thus the lower %s for chuckers. Just look at what happened when Lebron stopped settling for awful 3s and took his game closer to the basket. You gonna credit his skyrocketing FG% to 'zone' or some other bullshit excuse? That's called Basketball IQ, I wouldn't expect a chuckbe stan to understand that simple concept.

Yes because FT's are a result of made and missed shots from the field :facepalm
Kobe fans love this bullshit TS%, but bring up winshare % and its a bullshit stat.

Don't speak with logic, all he knows is
Jordan played in a weak era, Lebron and Durant now play in a weak era, only Kobe played in a tough league

- so why was Hondo's FG% at 43%???...when he only took 5 3's??
- why was hayes FG% so low.....when he took 15 3's his whole career?
- who cares if Durant din't shoot 50%....you proved my point...it's still a handful of players vs the bucketloads of 80's/90's players who shot a high %
Re: Kobe has missed 15,296 shots. The most in NBA history.
shaq's missed more free throws than that
And these idiots talking about 2000 - 2010 being "tougher" defensively.
MJ MISSED less with handchecking allowed rules in place.
Kids. The internet's full of them.
So let's get this straight - Kobe has played 2 more seasons than MJ and has far fewer points/assists/steals/rebounds/blocks, far MORE turnovers and missed shots, played with Shaq for 8 years and Pau / Bynum / Howard for 6 (while Michael NEVER had a dominant big man) and yet somehow Kobe is comparable to Jordan? 1 MVP vs 5? 2 scoring vs 10? 6 FMVP vs 2?
:roll::lol:oldlol::roll::oldlol:
I wouldn't put Kobe as the best Laker of all time (either Magic or even Kareem).
Silly Kobe fans.

My dude, your misguided point was that the reason Kobe's FG% is lower than MJ's was because of different eras, defenses, etc. You say this when the best player on the planet is riding a 4 year streak of shooting 50% or higher (currently shooting 54%), with guys like Durant and Wade near or past that barrier now and in the past. How do you explain that?
Is Lebron immune to the superior defense of this era or more likely- is he, like Michael Jordan, just a plain better, smarter player than Kobe 'king chucker' Bryant? What's the deal? :biggums:
