Ace said he's never heard "Stairway to Heaven." But he's most def heard "My Girl."
My vote goes to "My Girl" by the Temptations or Aretha Franklin's version of "Respect." Soul Music tends to get around more than Rock (at least in this era.)
This song should definitely be in the top 10-20 Conversation:

Just like Ace, I've never heard Highway to Heaven nor Bohemian Rhapsody or watever (Although if I go to youtube and listen to them (which I will after this post) I'd prob recongnize it from a movie or commercial).
Anyway, It seems like this thread is "whites only" type music, so I'll exit to da left.:lol
IMO, the greatest song ever is Michael Jackson's "Thriller" with "Billie Jean" a close 2nd. Goat gonna Goat.

I went to listen to both and didn't recognize either. I also thought I would. :oldlol:
There are a few in each genre that can be considered. It has to be a song that ANYONE can enjoy no matter their taste. Something that is so good you can't help but appreciate the beauty. Some of my unconventional candidates would be...

Movie and video game soundtracks nowadays are the only quality shit produced, all the real songs are autotuned to death and you can't even tell who the **** it is. No actual talent is required anymore, just a pretty face and some editing in the studio and you are an instant star.

I just went to check them out, I think I heard Highway to Heaven from somewhere before, and I've never heard Bohemian Rhapsody....Couldn't make it through either song, gave HTH 40 seconds untill I off'd it, and gave BR about 14 seconds before I said "lol no...white ppl music:facepalm " and closed my YouTube tab. Not a fan.
But the song "We are the Champions" has to be the greatest song for the sports world.
I'm God- lil b
Underrated best song of all time candidates:
House of the Rising Sun-the Animals
Tuesdays Gone- lynrd skynrd
Tonight tonight- smashing pumpkins
Reckoner - radiohead
My personal favorite is "Sitting on the dock of the bay" by Otis Redding. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCmUhYSr-e4)
My Dick - Michey Avalon anyone?

Stairway to Heaven. But anyway you probably wouldn't recognize it because Led Zepplin are notorious for not letting their music be used. Here is Jack Black begging them to let them use a song in The School of Rock (which they did end up allowing).

And here is a deleted scene from Almost Famous. They filmed the scene but weren't allowed to use the song so they added the scene as a DVD extra. The scene didn't have the music so you had to sync the song to the video (which has been done in this link).

:applause: Great one.
I would have to say the song that reflects and encapsulates being a human being in an ever changing world is this:

I think this is on the very short list of greatest songs ever recorded. Not complicated, not overdone. Just something that appeals to the wide gamut of being a human being.
