Swap their career path and Lebron would have at least 6 rings by now under coach pop and playing with Parker and Manu.
Timm Duncan literally does nothing better than Lebron James.

Dude, just stop. I know you're in love with LeBron, but show a little objectivity.
LeBron wins nothing in 98, 00, 01, 02, or 03. So now he has to win in 99, 03, 04, 05, 06 and 07 to have "at least 6 rings". Seems pretty unlikely.
Also, Duncan is a far better defender. If you think an athletic wing bring more to the table defensively than a seven footer, you really have lost it. Duncan plays more 50 win teams in two seasons than LeBron has his whole career.

Bird and Magic are NOT top five. Both had short careers and weren't impact players on defense.
Bill Russell is overrated. Kareem, Wilt, Shaq, Duncan, Hakeem are much better than him offensively and some of them aren't far away defensively. Russell was a liability on offense at times. Russell may have more championships, but there's no way Russell would win in their situations.
Says you.
I've been watching this game a long time and Bird and Magic are two of the biggest overall "impact" players I've seen because of their mastery of team ball and the game as a whole. They absolutely have a place in the top 5.
Even given Magic's shortcomings on defense, his overall impact and leadership is still undeniable. And you're wrong about Bird not having an impact on defense - he always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, and his defensive play was certainly good enough to complement the completeness of the rest of his game.
Without question, I'll take the two players who transformed the game within one glorious decade over guys with bigger career numbers who entered the game too young and overstayed their expiration dates.
