Re: Clippers trade for Lance Stephenson from Hornets
That's another 2nd round exit.
Still didn't fix the fact that they have the worst bench in the league.
Still have Crawford who will once again kill them in the playoffs.
Still will be a mediocre defense.
No backup big.
Austin Rivers getting major playoff minutes.
It's the same shit every year - win 56 games, get the 3rd/4th seed, then their flaws get exposed against a higher seeded team in the semifinals. :sleeping

It's pretty terrible spacing with lance jordan blake etc.. fk I wish I could see chris paul on a team like the bulls out east. He'd have a legit chance at making something of himself
Re: Clippers trade for Lance Stephenson from Hornets
Since when could Lance play the 3 full time? Clippers still have a huge hole at the 3

Sort of true. Crawford sucks in the playoffs. The more structured game of the playoffs doesn't suit him and his D is a joke. We really can't do much about the bench because our roster is too top heavy. Doc is going to have to work some magic to fill out the bench. But we did get a guy with a lot of upside if things work out. We got a little better imo. Hawes really was worthless in 95% of the games and at Barnes' age, he can decline anytime.
Re: Clippers trade for Lance Stephenson from Hornets
I can already picture his Bernie Mac looking ass pouting on the bench and then cheering one minute later.

He can play the 3 full time imo. Sure, he will be undersized against some 3s but for the most part, he should be fine. He is 6'6" and about 225 lbs with a 6'10.5" wingspan. That's not bad. He is the wing player this team desparately needed.

Unless they improve their bench, they will be in the same spot. They could realistically slip to the 6th-8th seed where they would have no chance of winning anything.
Re: Clippers trade for Lance Stephenson from Hornets
not a terrible move from either side. Lance's value was at a real low, so getting a decent if underwhelming outside shooting big and a tone setting vet role player is pretty good.
if steph meshes, he is a solid piece on that team. Only 1 year (team option next year) and they have no cap to upgrade in FA.

There is a long off season still. Why does this deal mean they are done making deals and improving the bench? The finals haven't even finished, do you think the clippers are done for the off season? This is the first move made, not their last.
Re: Clippers trade for Lance Stephenson from Hornets
He's only got a year left on his deal right? It's worth the risk if that's all that's left.

Could be wrong though.
Re: Clippers trade for Lance Stephenson from Hornets
as long as clips have Mr. 0/0 they will be pretenders
Re: WOJ: Clippers are trying to trade for Lance Stephenson
I can't believe that's all Charlotte gets
Re: Clippers trade for Lance Stephenson from Hornets
Nerlen Noel would be the center that makes this team a contender.
Elton Brand DiD went from clippers to philly once.
Re: Clippers trade for Lance Stephenson from Hornets
Don't see much of a downside here.
He's only on the books for this year before a team option.
The Clippers had no ability to do anything in the off season and this trade is a good risk to take.
What's the downside? They choke away a series lead and lose in the 2nd round? Seems like par for the course for this Paul/Doc led Clippers team.
The upside is quite big here as Lance might get back to playing his brand of basketball on a loaded team where he just has to fill in the gaps.
