I was saying during the season that Niang was going to be gone. He's earned a payday and with the tax he'd too expensive now. Even if he had showed up in the playoffs I think he would have been. Hopefully they can get someone else that can shoot and defend.
Would love to have Ersan back but if the coach won't play him how much sense does it make?
If Jazz forward Joe Ingles is indeed available for trade, sources say the Warriors do have interest — just no good way to get him. Ingles, approaching 34, fits the Warriors’ need for a veteran and another offensive playmaker. His passing would fit perfectly with the Warriors. He can run point forward and spot up off the ball, making him viable with the starters and the second unit. He’s got 45 playoff games under his belt. He shot a career-best 45.1 percent from 3 on a career-high 6.1 attempts per game — his third season at 44 percent or above. He’s also reputed for being a great guy and would add to the culture of the locker room.

The most viable option to get Ingles is to see where Oubre Jr. signs and try to convert it into a sign-and-trade. In that scenario, the Warriors would get a traded player exception in exchange for Oubre and they could use that exception to get Ingles, if he is available. But that’s adding $13 million (plus the repeater tax) to what is already the league’s highest payroll. Ingles is good, but is he good enough for Lacob to stomach the added cost? The Warriors could keep the TPE for potential use later, but the same question would come up.
With fellow All-Stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert's new extensions kicking in this season, the Jazz were already over the salary cap before negotiations ever began Monday. The Jazz can go over the cap to retain their own free agents (though that comes with a hefty luxury tax cost), but can only use two exceptions — the taxpayer mid-level exception (about $5.9 million) and the minimum salary exception — to sign new players
trade exceptions!
If the Jazz had lost Conley, they couldn't have even pursued Kyle Lowry, Chris Paul or any of the other top free agent guards to replace him. With the options available to the team, Conley's production would have been downright impossible to replace, so Monday's news was a win for the franchise. It might not be someone new, but it's a signing that should help keep the Jazz's championship window open.
Azubuike was the team’s first-round draft pick last season but was saddled on the bench behind superstar Rudy Gobert and veteran Derrick Favors. Favors was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder to lower the Jazz luxury tax bill, leaving an open spot behind Gobert in the Jazz rotation.

behind Morgan and Ersan as well and maybe Brantley
Both Brantley and Hughes could see themselves competing for an open roster spot if free-agent forward Georges Niang signs elsewhere. Niang is a knockdown shooter and is expected to receive significant interest from opposing teams which could price the Jazz out of the forward’s services.

Hughes has a guaranteed contract
On Tuesday morning, those fans got their wish, as The Athletic’s Shams Charania and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Jazz and Gay have agreed to a two-year deal, with a player option on the second year.
I assume he got the big exception though they might be able to do a sign and trade with a trade exception? Former Conley teammate. Hopefully works out better than Green. A starting 4! Bojan to the bench? Trade Clarkson?
This all comes with the caveat and understanding that Conley’s recent hamstring issues are not to be ignored. There is real concern there, especially with Conley being nearer to the end of his playing career. But with the right conditioning and management throughout the season, the Jazz should be able to deliver Conley to the playoffs healthy.

maybe but who cares if he can't play during the playoffs
update after Gay signing
Gobert/Udoka
Gay/O'Neale(He should still start at the 3 if they have a clue)
Bojan(Should be headed to the bench)/Oni(Non guarantee)/Hughes
Mitchell/Clarkson(Should be headed out of town)/MaCio Teague(Exhibit 10)
Conley/Ingles/Butler(assuming he is signed to at least a partially guaranteed deal?)
UFA - Niang, Ersan, Morgan, Thomas
RFA - Brantley, Forrest
10 guaranteed contracts, 7 camp spots left, 2 two way spots open
