While men & women are both human... they are built differently physically & mentally... you just erased gender entirely and lumped women into the same category as Musk & Trump.

Some of those movies actually ARE woke but it hadn't become a dominant trend yet. The seeds were definitely being planted though. An entire generation of people grew up thinking Spike Lee was some genius who had something important to say.

The movie flirts with both sides but in the end you can tell where Spike was hoping the audience would land. In the end Mookie doesn't really get any type of comeuppance for starting the riot and Sal is way too understanding and forgiving.

Nah black people don't riot when black cops kill black people. Look no further than Tyre Nichols. Easily the worst case of police brutality caught on camera in our lifetime and it was nothing but crickets.

And it happened AFTER Floyd. AFTER they swore up and down that raising awareness was the most important thing.

As for the ending of DTRT, Sal was basically a father figure to Mook. Before the Radio Rahiem incident in the pizzaria Sal is telling Mookie how much he means to him and how he's always been like a son to him. He tells him that he'll always have a place in his business no matter what.

And how does Mookie repay him? By burning down his business and his life's work. All because some violent asshole needlessly tried to KILL Sal and then wouldn't surrender to the police when apprehended.

Sal and his sons are the real victims in that movie, but in Spike Lee's twisted mind his attitude towards them seems to be "Oh well".

I maintain the only/main reason George Floyd/BLM caught fire like it did was because it happened 3 months into the Pandemic, and we were all crazy from being locked down. The world was a powder keg, and that was the igniter. If 2020 was a normal year that would have been treated like any other similar situation.

It's funny to see the discussion of the movie Predator: Killer of Killers has migrated to topics George Floyd and COVID now. :roll:
