Re: According to the mayor of LA, you're an american as soon as you step foot on U.S
The riots aren't justified, but I think a lot of the anger is how the situation is being handled. The reality is there is a big voter block that doesn't want this country to be black and brown, let alone having more immigrants in the US. Illegal immigrants are a smokescreen for the real issue. Legal immigration is something that many (if not most) conservatives don't really want.
Just look at recent twitter posts of various former and current congressman, or conservative personalities such as Kirk, Walsh, or Knowles. They're having open season on Mexicans and multiculturalism. Walsh even put out a tweet shitting on Mexican cuisine. I mean, really?
You have legal immigrants having their status stripped, by the hundreds of thousands, and the Trump administration closing the refugee program. Ok, fine, but then you give a pass to the white Afrikaaners? I'm not saying they don't deserve to be refugees, but this is ridiculous. Why preference for one group over the other?
If these people really cared for legal immigration, they'd fix the immigration process. It took 2 months to get a Green card when the program began in 1940. Whites got them with ease. It takes 10 years now. Why? Volume? Bureaucracy? Ok, fair. Then why don't conservatives fix the broken system? Answer: They don't want to.
I have friends who are green card holders who have been put in ICE jails. They're being treated like garbage. Kids being detained at schools? What kind of humanity is that? Citizens being placed in jails or being detained? Where does it end?
The outcry will only grow. And alienating 40 million Mexican-Americans is a bad move when they're indigenous to the Southwest and many in California. Not to mention how important Mexico is to the US economy. Mexico is the second largest oil exporter to the US behind Canada.
Most conservatives including myself are FOR legal immigration... but controlled immigration. Choosing who and how many we allow into the country.
No one is alienating any specific race... it is capturing those who are in the country illegally. Respect the laws of the country. The green card holders can be revoked and asked to leave if they have committed crimes. WE do not want criminal green card holders. It is not in the best interest of the country to house them. IF they come here and commit crimes, then leave. That is not why they were brought here.
Every single left wing argument boils down to "you're racist".
Every. Single. One.

It's only crazy if you're being naive. When I say they don't "really" want, I don't mean outright. Many, if not most, want legal immigration to be decreased, if not eliminated. How many policies do you have to see that shows this?
From seeking asylum in a neighboring country's US embassy to eliminating the refugee program to stripping work visas for legal migrants, the impetus seems quite clear. It's not something Conservatives really want.
Most conservatives including myself are FOR legal immigration... but controlled immigration. Choosing who and how many we allow into the country.
Yea, and I'm right there with you, but I believe it to be a smokescreen because what I'm seeing isn't that. And choosing "who" is another smokescreen. Again, why haven't conservatives tried to make legal immigration easier?
No one is alienating any specific race... it is capturing those who are in the country illegally. Respect the laws of the country. 500,000 Haitians, Venezuelans, and Cubans with 2 year parole visas (that's legal) had them ended. If the premise is "well they were temporary," then my retort is, so? What effort was there to give extensions or some kind of permanent status? If the answer is, "too bad, go home." My response is, "exactly."
The refugee program was scrapped, but magically accepted for whom? If the explanation is, "they were being genocided!" Then guess what, I got a long list of black and brown folk that can say the same.
Don't want criminal green card holders? That's understandable. My buddy had a felony from '94 that he served as a young man, and cleaned up his life. But that's not the issue. The issue is that he was already in court for this process and traveled and is now being put through worse conditions, meanwhile the case was already in court. Why does he need an ankle bracelet when he's:
1) Legal
2) Served his time (31 years ago is a pretty decent time)
3) Did no crime re-entering the country?
He has a family, a wife, and children. They don't count, who ironically, are citizens themselves? People's lives are being ruined through shabby political maneuvering.

How about you address what I said before throwing the typical "oh you're a leftist!"
For the record, I'm anti-illegal immigration and I'm actually pro-building the wall. So I'm not sure where that leaves you, but address my contentions and leave the ad hominem for others.

Dunno if you caught it or not but I was messing with Dooms, only a complete moron like you would ever get triggered enough by an anonymous stranger online to challenge said stranger to a real fist fight :lol
You're lucky I didn't accept your lame challenge, I guarantee I'd knock your ass out...but I like not having a criminal record and my freedom.

In two posts you went from many conservatives dont want legal immigration to conservatives want legal immigration to decrease
Do you realize how different these two things are? Conservatives want controlled immigration. Immigration should not always be helping hand from American taxpayers. There are people coming to the USA not because they need the USA, but because the USA needs them. Those are the ones that need to prioritized if we want to make the American dream viable.
Re: According to the mayor of LA, you're an american as soon as you step foot on U.S
The USA is kind of ****ed on its own financially. It can't afford the weight of a billion beaners coming in and having a ton of kids sucking the system dry even more.
If its so great in Mexico... why come here? United States isn't exactly paradise. Its a shit hole in most places and states. Unless you have bread, its mid or below.

It's true... though. Weight is really a huge problem with the culture. Universities and work places have glass limits on each race to encourage diversity. Dems absolutely love this... but if we apply the same logic to immigration policies... nope. 59 or so south african refugees were allowed and they cry injustice.
Re: According to the mayor of LA, you're an american as soon as you step foot on U.S
Even legal immigration isn't really a right though. You don't just get to... choose to be a citizen anywhere you want.
I can't just apply for citizenship in Japan or UAE or something. Countries are allowed to say no to immigration and keep what they have. Especially when they're floating in a major financial deficit and barely afloat as is.

Exactly. Not one Conservative that I know of in the public eye or not has ever said that they weren't for legal immigration. That was an asinine thing to even imply. The Left, or those that sympathize with the Left are just vastly uninformed.

The right wing social media influencers you are referring to aren't shitting on Mexico because they're racist. They're doing so because the "peaceful protestors" are waving the flag of Mexico while setting the U.S. flag on fire. These people are asking for a fight. If you can criticize our country and our culture then we can criticize yours.
And I'm sorry but it's not racist to criticize multiculturalism either. There are legitimate arguments against it that have nothing to do with prejudice or race. I'm not saying immigrants have to leave their identities behind when they come here but I also think they have an obligation to assimilate.
Trump suspended the refugee program because too many people were gaming the system pretending to be facing persecution when in reality they're here for the economic benfits. I understand he made an exception for the whites coming from South Africa but those people ARE actually being persecuted. These are well off people financially. They're not looking to come here for any other reason. Plus the Trump administration said they're admitting about 1,000 people, not hundreds of thousands.
I mean do you honestly think that Trump is looking to beef up the white population by letting in 1,000 white people from South Africa? That's gonna make a dent and restore white dominance?
I really think you're looking too much into things.

If you want to fix a broken system... start with Mexico.
Maybe they can start by taking a page out of El Salvador's playbook.
