I told you guys. He wasn't the fall guy. It wasn't a conspiracy.
Nico had a personal problem with Luka for <insert whatever speculative reason> AND he was irrationally in love with Anthony Davis. Though I do remember something about him approaching Minnesota and asking about Antman and approaching Milwaukee and asking about Giannis WITHOUT letting them know that he was shopping Luka

It's real.
This guy does not give a **** at all.
Re: BREAKING: Nico fired!
This is the same shit as the Chris Rock slap. People just refuse to believe what they see and hear anymore. Everything has to be a conspiracy or a set up or bullshit. And to be fair, we have been lied to so much I guess it could be hard to decipher what is real and isn't real anymore.
But: Chris Rock got slapped for real & Nico Harrison really is that dumb.

I’ve heard things about how he fired either the head of medical staff or personal trainers, someone within that faculty of the organization, because he had a strong voice in the clubhouse and had a lot of respect from players and the rest of the organization. Supposedly he was really good at his job too. But Nico had some psycho spaz out and was scared of people potentially undermining him? It sounds so crazy and how can this even be real but with Nico it makes you wonder.

Yep I read something similar.
Re: BREAKING: Nico fired!
If they still did that nba game of thrones parody they could have done nico as the mad king and Luka as the kingslayer

No it wasn't fine. There was no chance the Wizards were going to win with Beal. The previous few seasons had shown that.
The owner clearly didn't think the Beal contract was fine because he fired the GM that gave it to him less than a year later.
As of today the only "asset" we've gotten from the Beal trade was Chris Paul. The pick swap it '24 was nothing, as it will probably be.this year. That leaves draft swaps in '28 and '30 as the only possible draft compensation we got from this deal.
Fortunately the new GM decided to do a full rebuild and was lucky enough to find an idiot new owner to take on Beals contract. The problem is that they started their tank in a historically weak draft class in '24 instead of the Wemby draft. If we started the rebuild sooner then we would probably be further along and might not have traded Deni, the best player we've drafted since Beal.
They signed Beal to that contract hoping to win. Since that signing the Wizards have a record of 69-186. So not only didn't they win but they still haven't gotten any draft compensation for Beal. We got a late first for trading Gafford ffs but we've gotten nothing for trading Beal.

Wanted a two way player settled for the 3rd option
Re: BREAKING: Nico fired!
The way you talk about the Beal deal and the wizards recent history in general of the Beal deal got him fired it could be argued that made it a positive. More seriously for Washington if the pick swaps can ever be used (can they be traded?) then that's something they got for signing him. If you don't care about the owner's money for however long they were paying him then that's something. Its not been much so far but it's not the reason Washington has accomplished so little.

The longtime gm grunfeld was fired a few years previously. They then hired one of the guys on his staff. SMH I had hoped he would be better but when he gave Beal that deal I knew he was just Grunfeld Jr.
The biggest issue for Wizards fans is that we lost Deni. New mgt apparently traded him because he didn't fit the new timeline, and of course they didn't draft him, the old gmy did. That has been the most painful part of the whole rebuild. We finally drafted a guy who breaks out, we had already signed him to a cheap deal, and then we trade him away and he might make the All Star team.
If we don't resign Beal then I can't imagine that Deni would have been traded. And of course we ended up starting our tank for a draft where Risacher went number 1 instead of Wemby. I also wouldn't mind having Brandon Miller or Amen Thompson.
Re: BREAKING: Nico fired!
One team source recalls a document where Harrison placed Jrue Holiday within the same tier of talent as Nikola Jokić. While at Nike, Harrison’s role involved talent evaluation. But from the very first moment he was hired, several league sources say, there were questions whether those evaluations would translate to coherent team building.

Re: BREAKING: Nico fired!
We’re going to find out someday that Nico was in deep with the same kind of shit that Chauncey Billups, Jones, Johntay Porter, Tim Donahey, Malik Beasley, etc, etc, were caught up in.
It’s the only explanation that makes sense. Nobody could actually be that stoopid.
