Yo Aerisfinest, you think Wade > LeBron right? :pimp:
I might have missed 10 Heat games last season at the most. At the beginning, I just wanted to see the Heat LeBron. By the end of the regular season, I was barely holding on to the thought that LeBron would suddenly flip the switch.
Watching all those games, it's blatantly obvious to me that last year's LeBron was a shadow of his former self. Sure, he put up the same stats, but his impact on the game was like 60% of his Cavs' prime. He didn't drive and get people in foul trouble; he stood around on the perimeter and let people defend off him; he let a ton of shot clocks wind down without doing anything.
Yeah, Wade was better than LeBron last year. I can't believe anybody would think otherwise. It's not a huge gap though. Wade had his flaws too, while LeBron had his good aspects.
In the playoffs, LeBron did get a little bit better, so the gap wasn't as huge (except in the Finals). I'd say LeBron had a better playoff run than Wade up until the Finals. But at the end of it all, there's no question who was the better player.

Great post. I actually thought LeBron was better in the regular season, hence why he got more MVP votes than Wade did. But yeah I would say the playoffs in particular the finals changed it all.
Lebron was exposed in many facets. He is not a consistent jump shooter. He can't beat people relentless off the dribble anymore like he use to. The zone destroyed him and he never found out how to adjust/play against it. He started getting passive when he pretty much lost Game 2 for the Heat. I think after Game 2 was the turning point. He lost all of his confidence for blowing that big lead and not being able to win it for them. I think after that he just decided to defer but it is too bad he overdid it and he ended up contributing to nothing. Part of that has to do with being mentally weak.

I bolded the parts that I agreed with.
I considered his jumper to be reasonably consistent. Not something he should have relied on, but it was still good enough to win games.
The zone issue, to me, is a matter of how you deal out responsibility. To me, I think the coaches are the ones responsible for correcting their players and setting up plays to destroy the zone's effectiveness (which should have been easy since they have a few good 3 point shooters). I consider Spoelstra a terrible offensive coach since their offense horribly underutilized the Big 3 and company. In fact, here's one damn simple yet damn good play for Spo: a pick and roll with LeBron and Wade. I'd like to see any team guard that effectively. Easily could have won the Finals for the Heat.
Of course, you might feel differently and place the blame on LeBron for not figuring out how he should play. That's understandable too.
That passive thing, I completely agree with. I noticed how the Mavs players always doubled him at perfect times (attributable to good coaching and watching tapes, perhaps?), coming right at him right as his body language showed he was about to make a move. 100% of the time, passed out of the double team.
Man, screw that. He's a superstar. He should have played like one. That's the good thing to do in terms of team basketball in an example, where all 5 players are equally good. But obviously, that's not the case.
I'm not in LeBron's head, so I don't know about his being "mentally weak" or not. I just watch basketball; I'm not trying to figure out his personality lol

i think that the whole zone issue was blown completely out of proportion. in the course of an entire game during the finals, the mavs probably played like 5 mins of zone. it was just to take the heat out of a groove, it wasnt a long-term solution. it wasnt a very big factor, just a nice wrinkle carlisle threw in.

Re: All Star Classic
I saw a few minutes of this game..boring. Yeah, big names, but it was popcorn basketball. No defense, just guys having a good time making lay ups back and forth. This was for charity, so it's all good. But boring basketball. I don't watch games just to see Wade and Lebron..I watch the game to see good basketball.

last year lebron was on a completely new team... with completely new teammates... with completely new offense... with completely new ROLE... with a completely new coach.... with completely new process of team chemistry...... and so on..... he was trying to much to please all his teammates
at the bolded part........... is that called careful, smart & methodical way of lebron bashing?
You cant think of a reason why anybody would think Lebron was better last year.... no question who was better?....... really?????????????????? hahahahahhahahah.....
ok ok.. if you are serious... here i will give you a couple of reasons, im sure you can pick ONE of them....

lebron was the most productive player in the NBA, he was the one with the most PER/EFF/winshares.......

he was the one with much more MVP votes (524 to Wades 24, even Ginobili got as much as Wade)..

he was the one with most POTM awards-trophies-milestones..

he was the more productive player in the playoffs overall... up until the Mavs series, Lebron was the one closing out ALL the series in the 4th quarter.... especially the ECF where Wade was more horrible than Lebron was in the Finals........ if it wasnt for Lebron, Wade would not been in the Finals...

he was the one that took a team who didnt win a playoff series since a half decade ago to the finals...

Wade was not even on the 1st team all-nba or 1st all-defensive team that year for Gods sake... Lebron was... on both..

In the NBA Finals.... Wade didnt do anything more except score better.......... We won 2 games in the Finals..... despite Lebrons bad scoring performance... he actually won 1 game (Game 1, yep many seem to forget he was great that game, especially in clutch)... and the 2nd game it was Lebrons behind the back pass to Bosh who hit the gamewinner that won the game....
Wade didnt manage to close out a single game in the Finals and was much worse than Lebron in Game 5 and Game 6 "where he gave up" (as u ppl like to say)................ my point is, they both SUCKED in the Finals..... Wade only scored more and took more shots and passed less than Lebron in about 3 games... 26 ppg... woppedi freakin doooo.... i blame both of them for sucking it up in the Finals
satisfied?

Quick question, do you actually think you are convincing anybody? And do you actually think your reasons will do so? Because the answer is no to both of those questions.
