best game of all time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rN17J-KMWnY That Game was almost a decade ago.
I’ve never seen him play so devoid of emotion as he did in this game. He usually is very exuberant, he was like the terminator in this one though.
This is his magnus opus game.
Probably the game that made the most people on planet earth butt hurt.
I remember where I was watching it.
Greatest performance of the 21st century.

I wouldn't tattoo that into the mind, but since you asked.
"You can’t imagine what this was like to witness in person. I know Michael Jordan had similarly astonishing games, and others, too, but not with stakes like that. This wasn’t just an elimination game. This was LeBron James’s entire career being put on trial … and it only took an hour for him to tell the jury, 'Go home. I’m one of the best players ever. Stop picking me apart. Stop talking about the things I can’t do. Stop holding me to standards that have never been applied to any other NBA player."
they're still doing this and we all know why.
"plz wuv my childhood hero michael jordan, plz. he will always be the goat to me."
Was down 3-2 to a team that didn't win 50 games nor if you had projected victories would had won 50 games. Basically a 1st round team.
The crazy thing is look at how much Wade and Bosh scored that game too. If LeBron doesn't go full LeGoat they lose that game and the series.
Wade shot 35% (6 for 17)
Bosh shot 38% (3 for 8)

Lebron played with Shaq who won league mvp and 3 finals mvp's and lost in round 2. Lebron played with Peak Duncan who had won 2 league mvp's and 3 finals mvp's and won bronze medal. Lebron played with Peak Wade who won finals mvp and got outplayed by Jason Terry. Lebron played with Derrick Rose who won mvp under age 30 which was the same as Kevin Durant who won mvp under 30 while both were on Golden State and Cleveland. Lebron played with mulitple PER leaders as well and now Russell Westbrook a league mvp winner and more triple doubles than Oscar Robertson. Yet despite all of that Lebron lost with all of them.

He has peak Anthony Davis, the best player on the 2020 squad and the reason the Lakers did anything as the 2019 Lakers missed the playoffs and 2021 Lakers lost in round 1 when AD wasn't around. He has Prime Melo who won a scoring title and all time leader in scoring for the Olympics. He has Dwight Howard a 3x DPOY and a guy who beat Lebron without HCA. He has Westbrook who is the modern day Oscar Robertson and also won league mvp along with average a Triple Double 4 years in a row. He also has Rondo who is a hall of famer.
Why didn't he play it against Dwight Howard in 2009 when Dwight was dominating http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?459570-How-is-it-even-possible-to-lose-to-Dwight-Howard-in-a-series-with-HCA/page10? Or against Duncan or KG or Dirk? Both 0-2 with HCA against 50+ win teams until they joined forces with someone who won as the man. Also won bronze medals.
Tmac lost to Utah in 2007 while Lebron was losing to a career loser in Dwight Howard and also Carlos Arroyo in the Olympics with peak Tim Duncan on his squad despite playing more minutes than Hakeem even played on the 1996 Olympic team.

They probably had the same defensive rating, but I don't think anyone would mention the 2012 Celtics as an All Time Great defensive team like they do with the 2004 Pistons and 2008 Celtics.

I don't know if any athlete has ever faced as much pressure as 2012 Lebron. Maybe Jackie Robinson or Ali? But that was more for off the field, out of the ring type stuff.
Lebron was the laughing stock coming into the season, and after losing 3 in a row to the Celtics the narratives were amazing. If this wasn't overcoming pressure on an all-time level then idk what is.

What? Wade had the best +/- in the game and in the 2nd half and it was still a game going into the 4th and Wade scored & assisted on the first 7 pts early in the 4th to put the Heat up 18. I'm not sure if you watched the series but they had just dropped 3 straight with two close losses going into that Game 6.. Wade lowkey carried them in Game 7 as well as him & Bosh combined for 17 pts on 6/8 shooting in the 4th while Bran had 11 pts on 9 shots and Bosh and Wade had the key stretch in the last 4 minutes on both ends to put the series away.

You said the game wasn't in reach with Boston down 13 at home with a quarter to go when the Heat had dropped 3 straight. Bran had an ATG first half with him making every mid-range shot and they still had to close it out, right?
This was the greatest NBA game ever played bar none.
Had this been Lebron your response would be "well they were already up double digits before he did that, so who cares?" and rightfully so.
Not really. He'd have went for 50+ if it was just him closing out the game, which would have made it even more legendary, but that's not really the point.
My initial reply was to a troll who implied that Wade did nothing because of his overall shooting #s when he helped them put the Celtics away in the 4th.
Bran had an ATG first half and a solid 3rd quarter but the game wasn't over after that. That's all.

No, I didn't. I said that Wade scoring a couple assisted buckets at the start of the 4th didn't hold off a comeback.
If anyone held off a comeback, it was Lebron is last few minutes of the 3rd. After he hit that 3 and then another shot when the Celtics brought it within 10? The Garden shut down. That was your ball game.

You still have a shot down 13. Wade scored & assisted on 13 of the Heat's 15 points to open up the 4th and the lead went from 13 to 25. That's the game.

Their spirits were completely destroyed. Outside of Lebron going off, the Heat were also absolutely swarming on defense in a slow-paced game. I think the Celtics scored 35 points in the second half.
They weren't coming back, and Wade getting some assisted buckets in the flow of the game against a demoralized team knowing that a guy on the other side is destroying them is not a closure. I'm pretty sure Lebron made his first two shots early in the 4th too.
But the game was closed before that and you know it. Or you don't, in which case there isn't much more to discuss. But it seems like you're arguing just to argue.

I wasn't responding to you in the first place. If you think a 13-point lead is insurmountable at home, (especially for a team as experienced as the '12 Celtics, who had just won 3 straight) then so be it.

When you've scored 16 and 18 in 2 of the 3 quarters thus far..and the other team has a guy who is continuing to not miss shots? Insurmountable? Maybe not. Was the Boston Garden no longer the advantage it was previously? No, they had the energy sucked out of them too. Where the Heat going to win regardless of if Wade makes a couple assisted buckets to start the 4th? Yea...I think you know they were.
You cherry-pick these possessions so aggressively that I'm certain you're intentionally not being fair. I actually just looked over the game 7 4th quarter play-by-play. The Heat were down 1 with 9:07 left and over the next 4 minutes Lebron scored 10 and assisted a Bosh 3 to get them up 7, a lead that would balloon from there. In that play-by-play...if you were to switch L. James with either C. Bosh or D. Wade I am absolutely positive that you would be talking about how those two scored/assisted the crucial buckets of the game and Lebron stat-padded once it was over. ABSOLUTELY positive...
Never been more sure of anything in my entire time here.
LeBron has ruined ImKobe’s life
