Should get a 16 million dollar TPE in Pelicans deal. That could be big! Maybe get Ed Davis into that and save xxception for someone else?
The Jazz still have some work to do to fill out their roster. They have five total roster spots open, with the most immediate needs being another backup point guard and another solid forward or center, depending on where they see Davis fitting in best.
Plus 2 two ways. Davis could probably play some 4 with Bradley being able to space the floor. Defensively not sure it would work though? Need a wing more than anything I'd say. Have O'Neale and Exum. Don't want to count on Exum. Might want a combo guard with Exum and Neto and their injuries not to mention Conley's. A 4 to compete with Niang at the 4 would be good. Want to leave some flexibility to see what happens in Summer league and who they want to add from that. I'd think 4 of the Stars guys could be in the mix as well as Mitrou Long and their picks of course. Ideally leave some flexibilty to make moves later in the year after they see how the pieces fit and what they will need later at the deadline and with buyouts where they could be a top destination

.@Tjonesonthenba brought up Jeff Green yesterday. Should he be available for a vet min deal, he would be another good add for UTA. Last year w/ WAS: 12.3 PPG (48-35-89 splits), 4 RPG, 1.8 APG.
That said, there are a lot of teams looking to add vets.
A guy that averaged `12 points on that kind of shooting is only geting minimum? He could start and split minutes with Georges

Same height and longer than Dante and can hit an open shot and is from Yale. Maybe they'll get lucky with him and/or Brantley and they can help at some point this year. The other guy didn't impress me in highlites

says it works in the trade machine? I think Dante is only guaranteed this year. Have a buit more flexibility position wise with Exum. Dunn fits and has proven more
Looks like Green was a minimum player last year but with the money available this year and the year he had it's hard to imagine he won't get more. He would have made sense for the exception instead of Davis. Can play 3/4

Good for Raul. Sucks that the Jazz think Exum is good and Neto isn't though. No one wants to take him in a deal? Be a good pick up on the waiver wire for sure
I think they could bring him back but he needs to go where he will be appreciated anyway.
David J. Smith
@davidjsmith1232
That is a shame. Perhaps the Jazz can bring him back on the vet minimum?
If he does not return, UTA has four roster spots to fill (including two two-way players and assuming all three 2nds stick).
Why would you think the 2nds would stick when they obviously need more vets for depth? Last time they had 3 2nds one got some guaranteed money. One was invited to camp and cut and played for the Stars which was stupid I thought but maybe the agent/player demanded it? And the other was stashed for a year before being given away for nothing for some reason.
Mitchell is the only rookie that has done anything in summer league under Snyder and the only one that deserved to play right away. If one of these guys does good in summer league I would look to sign them. Otherwise I'd want to stash them. Not sure why they don't like stashing players? The Spurs add guys to their roster every year that have been stashed. Big advantage. Like having a bigger roster
This is a make or break year for some of these guys. Probably the most important guy to watch is Tony Bradley. The Jazz have invested a lot of time in Bradley and at some point he needs to show an ability to impact the game.
Mark Medina: I’m told Jordan Bell also fielded interest from Houston, Oklahoma City and Utah. But Bell narrowed in on Minnesota because he could have the biggest role there – via Twitter MarkG_Medina
I'm guessing he would have been starting for the favorite in Utah though?
The two draft picks I liked from highlites were the ones that stood out especially the first pick Brantley. He might be able to help them at some point this year. Might have to find a roster spot for him. Looks like he's gotten into better shaped since college. Looked like he might be more of a 3 than a 4. Maybe some small ball 4? Can handle the ball and score it. Made some good defensive plays too.
The last pick Oni was a bit raw but active and athletic on D and can handle it too. Maybe a two way? The other guy made a couple nice shots but a bit of a gunner and small. Stash him on the Stars or elsewhere?
Bradley looked good against a more experienced player in Rabb who he's played against in the Gleague.
Willie Reed might be someone they look at for their bench as well. He's good.
Conley/Exum
Mitchell/O'Neale
Bogdanovic/Ingles/Brantley?

Calderon and Vince wouldn't be bad as vets that can hit shots
Caruso would be a great pickup. I'd think someone is going to pay him though
Wilson Chandler could start at the 4
Cook would be a nice pickup
Does Gasol have anything left to start?
Might be able to start Cunningham
Dorsey might be interesting
Might be able to start Dudley
Ellenson is worth a look
Ennis would be good
Jerebko fits other than Snyder doesn't like him
Kornet might fit
loved Koufos!
I'd be all over Layman. Hard to believe he's be had for minimum
Lydon is worth a look
Mitrou Long should be considered
Greg Monroe as depth
Morris brothers if they could be had at that price for sure
Like Pachulia!
Jabari for sure at that price!
Definitely should be able to fill the bench with some good players. Rather they can get a starting caliber 4 that fits is the question. Definitely need some depth in the likely case that Dante still sucks though
