He'll likely back up Rudy Gobert at the center position, while providing decent rim protection and ball skills at the NBA level in Quin Snyder's offense, which involves big men frequently touching the ball at the perimeter.
From bust to Euroleague MVP. Be interesting to see what he brings. If he was younger I could see him being a different NBA player than he was but he's not
Donovan Mitchell sat out on the day after his 37-point, 8-steal performance Tuesday, once again putting the Jazz's backcourt in the hands of Nigel Williams-Goss and Tyrone Wallace.
And once again, both struggled.
Be interesting to see what happens with them. I had them pegged for the two ways which still makes sense if you think they have any kind of future.
And Griffin only ended up with one foul, a big improvement over the eight fouls he has picked up in two summer league games so far. I asked Griffin what he needs to do about that, and he put it very simply, "Stop with the cheap fouls. I get a lot of really cheap fouls."
Fouls wouldn't concern me too much. He'll be an end of the bench energy guy if he's on the team

Re: The 2017 off-season...Hayward, Hill, Ingles...?
So the Jazz are at 16. Just the two ways to go? I'd think Joe Johnson gets moved. Diaw and Johnson for assets? Don't make any sense with the team now. So Johnson probably starts at the 3. :lol
Their depth looks decent. Should be a competitive camp. A bunch of guys that could be going into their last season with the Jazz depending on how things shake out. Go into next season with a lottery pick and some flexibility

Re: The 2017 off-season...Hayward, Hill, Ingles...?
Gobert/Favors/Ingles/Rubio to start. Probably Hood the way the team talks and their love of him but he needs to come off the bench. I'd hope Exum or Mitchell can shoot enough to start at the 2.
Jerebko/Udoh/Burks/Hood or Seolosha with Neto/Exum or Mitchell for the 2nd unit?
Mitchell can start the year with the Stars with Bolomboy and Bradley if he's not quite ready. Goss, Wallace or Griffin for the two ways?
The team will probably look a lot different by the end of the season. Gobert and Mitchell and whomever else survives

You think? Hard to believe they brought him back last year. He can play. Might be able to start in the East!
Mitchell looking so good reflects worse on Denver, who traded down from the spot where he was available, to take Tyler Lydon at No. 24. Lydon has looked tentative and lost most of the time. Keep an eye out for this situation, it could become a thorn in Denver's side.
They got Lyles too. He's still young and talented. Needs to get his head on straight though

I certainly see the team looking a lot different by the end of the year. Who makes sense with Gobert and Mitchell is the question now
Utah now has 14 guaranteed contracts for the 2017-2018 season, with approximately $106.7 million committed in salary. Raul Neto has a nonguaranteed deal in place for approximately $1.5 million. Teams can have a maximum of 15 players on their roster.
So they are well below the tax lines. I think they used their exceptions for these signings so all they could do are minimum deals I think unless there is a trade. Johnson! Bolomboy is a partial guarantee too. Got to think Neto is around. I think he could be in the rotation still. One of the few guys that can shoot and defend
During the Final Four, Mike Schmitz of DraftExpress wrote about Udoh, noting how his game is more suited for the NBA now than it was even just a few years ago.
"More than anything, Udoh's Euroleague Final Four dominance emphasized the importance of having a big who can switch ball screens when involved in pick and roll, and put a lid on the rim when he's in help position," Schmitz wrote.
sounds like Rudy's back-up I guess
