Re: NFL Season 2025
I'm not mad at the Patriots loss today. They can compete with the class of the AFC. Need Milton Williams back though because James Cook absolutely torched us in the second half. NOt having Robert Spillane on the field didn't help either.
Can't win when you allow 5 straight TD drives, but Vrabel will sure that up come playoff time.

that sucks, but it's not like that team was going anywhere.

Re: NFL Season 2025
I think Josh Allen is still the best guy in the league but Stafford just had his MVP acceptance speech today, barring anything weird the last couple weeks.
Aside from that early pick, that was an absolute quarterbacking masterclass he just showed. Well done.

Thursday is gonna be a huge game. If the Rams win you could give the MVP to Stafford.

What you need him to jump through more hoops. If his last name were Mahomes, Brady, or Manning this isn't a conversation. At this point it's just petty gatekeeping and shady actions from a media that only knows how to cover horse races. This guy has had a single bad game this season...in a rain storm if he was 27 and not 37 people would be talking about him as an all-time great.
And the thing that really pisses me off is the Ben Johnson vs Mike Vrabbel COTY discussion should be the main narative of the season or should Daniel Jones get Comeback player of the year or Dak Prescott. But the MVP discussion was over week 10

Re: NFL Season 2025
Stafford, Maye, Allen are all strong mvp candidates. Too many games left to pretend you have the award figured out. Not sure the obsession with crowning a team the best, giving an award to a player so prematurely. I guess feels good when it happens you can bump your post. Rams vs Seahawks will be a huge game.

Re: NFL Season 2025
I'm not sure Zac Taylor is surviving this season. I know Burrow missed a lot of games, but I'm not even sure they'd make the playoffs had he played due to how atrocious the defense has been. This is after the defense wasted an MVP caliber season by Burrow last year. Then they go out and lose 24-0 at home to a 6-7 Raven team.
Even if you account for all the games Burrow's missed the last 3 years, they're only 17-15 in his starts over that timeframe. If you miss the playoffs 3 straight years with a QB of this caliber, while being gifted an additional playoff spot to boot, you shouldn't keep your job.
But the fact Marvin Lewis kept his job for SIXTEEN years despite literally never winning a playoff games leads me to believe management gives their coaches a lot of slack.

Who else is in the running for MVP?
Jonathan Taylor has come back to earth and Drake Maye was never really in consideration, just around around the discussion. Stafford's got this in the bag already.

Re: NFL Season 2025
It’s a dumb talking point but I think I would give it to Stafford from what we have seen.

Re: NFL Season 2025
What am I missing here with Stafford not being the unanimous choice for MVP at this point? Allen is obv a threat on the ground and scores a lot of rushing TD's, but Stafford has been on another level than him as a passer this year. He would have to implode over the final 3 games to not win MVP at this point.

Yea, right now it has to be Stafford. Stafford and Maye were in a dead heat tie a couple of weeks ago, but I think Maye's chances dropped after his performance yesterday, he was outshined by Allen.
Only way I see Stafford losing it is if the Seahawks finish ahead of the Rams in the standings and if Allen balls out these last few weeks and takes the division title over the Pats.

Josh Allen is literally doing what an MVP does. Yes Stafford stats are nice. And that will have him as a favorite to win it. But when you break down what these qbs have at WR? Then the stat difference (yards/passing td) start to look closer. And it becomes close when you factor in rushing yards and rushing tds which Allen trumps Stafford by a wide margin. Guys like Allen, Lamar you have to take into consideration their rushing stats becuase it impacts the offense. It’s apart of the offense. MVP is not reserved to just qbs with passing numbers solely. Allen yesterday literally made the mvp race closer than it should be. It’s funny when Drake maye supporters had him winning mvp at one point and high in the race generally speaking. Josh Allen beats him yesterday so how is that not giving Allen a boost?
These next 3 games will determine who wins mvp. Stafford balls out vs Seattle? And Allen falters vs Eagles? Then we have our winner. Stafford doesn’t have a great showing? Allen balls out vs Eagles? Now what?
Some fans tend to look at who does more with less. Isn’t that what Josh Allen is doing or are we going with the guy who hasn’t won an MVP. And is having an MVP season to just give him extra points?
