Hes most likely getting waived. This is a cap saving move. And they grabbed a draft pick apparently.
Yeah, but Deng is a hell of a lot more useful on the court.
Ehh I don't know. It's arguable. Gasol as a 1st or 2nd option at this point is a failure but as a 3rd option especially in the East he's a difference maker.
The one thing Gasol doesn't do, is space the floor. :wtf: ?
space the floor for kyrie and waiters. meaning gasol will attract more defense towards him in the low post, so teams will either have to come off kyrie and waiters a bit, or allow pau to go 1 on 1 with his defender every time. and a healthy pau is still pretty damn good in the post. you really couldnt put that together on your own?

Luol Deng rejected a 3 year, $30 million extension with Bulls last week, league source tells Yahoo. Turned out to be prelude to trade.
good job cavs....overpaid to trade him...now overpay him in the summer
So can the bulls cut Bynum and amnesty Boozer?
Bulls are going to waive Bynum tomorrow, then The Don Pat Riley will sign him for a piece of bread. My Heatles in 6.
bulls fans, do you want to see tony snell start at the 2 next to jimmy? or does dunleavy start because the lack of scorers.

How is Deng worth more than that?:confusedshrug:

There's a difference between attracting attention in the post, and spacing the floor.
Cavs also get exponentially worst in half court and transition defense with Pau starting in their starting lineup. Exponentially.
And lastly, the Cavs are stuffed at the 4/5 position, and thin at the 3. And while I think they gave up too much for a rental, Deng fills a need MUCH more than Pau.
Why do I think Deng is a half year rental? Because unless Grant is willing to pay him, he's dipping for that money:

aye man ask him & his agent
A 6th seed playoff team traded their leading scorer for money and protected picks.
Go East!
Wow, good trade for the Cavs I think, props to being sick of tanking and doing something about it. There's no reason this team can't finish fairly high in the East, they lack size but that doesn't really matter at this point.
Wow Chicago. Really?
good trade for both sides. cavs get the extra help they need in order to make a push into the playoffs while the bulls cheap fo saves the money they want to save while getting better at tanking
I think this is good. Chicago's run was done. Rose has been injured for 2 years now, Deng has been injured on and off, Noah, Boozer etc all have faced injuries. This team was never going to get itself together all healthy and primed for a championship run. In my opinion, even if they did, they still wouldn't beat Miami. Blow it up now, get some picks, make some trades. Shake it up a little and get rid of the terrible contracts if possible.
