I agree, but they have been pretty dominant compared to a lot of guys that have played through it.
You know what, you're right. I'd take LeBron off that list. Wade would stay because of his championship and finals performance. Plus he was robbed of an MVP by LeBron last year!

He really doesn't though. There is nothing Kobe has done that Shaq and Duncan have not. Oh wait, I got one. That's lead a team to a losing record(2005). Shaq and Duncan have NEVER led a team to a losing record this decade. Even when the Suns missed the playoffs last year, they still were 46-36. I got another one, that's quit on his team in Game 7 of a playoff series, in which a 3-1 lead was choked away. I just thought of another one too. That's being responsible for the greatest collapse in Finals history(2008 Game 4), as well as the worst loss in Finals history(2008 Game 6). So yeah, Kobe's surpassed Shaq and Duncan in those categories.
I got some things that Shaq and Duncan have done that Kobe hasn't. Both Shaq and Duncan have carried the load offensively for their teams, while at the same time, being their teams anchor defensively, for multiple seasons. They've also lead their teams to the Finals, being the main go to scoring option, en route to multiple Finals MVPs. Kobe, last year, barely did what Shaq and Duncan have done over and over again. They are without doubt, 1/2 of this decade. That is where the real debate is though. I've seen people on this board illustrate excellent arguments for both Shaq and Duncan in regards to player of the decade. IMO, you can't go wrong for selecting either.

I'll be sure to remember to tell kids that it's ok for them to rape women and get away with it, as well as display a selfish, egotistical, arrogant attitude at school/in the workplace and fight with their classmates/co-workers because they want all the attention on them. I can kind of understand why someone would be this way though. When a person's been pampered and fed everything on a silver spoon their entire life, I guess someone would have a false sense of entitlement. It's like that spoiled kid you may have known back in high school who could get away with murder and if we tried even half the sh*t they did, we knew what our parents would have in store for us. Those of us who have had to work hard for everything we've got in life, feel angry at someone being able to prance around with a holier than thou attitude while getting everything they want without having to put in the required work.
On a another note, it's criminal as well that Lebron James finishes higher than Shaq and Duncan. I really don't want to get into what Lebron has accomplished that Shaq and Duncan haven't. The disparity is far greater than for Kobe. This generation of fans is EASILY the dumbest. Good to see the guys at TNT know what's up. I have this strange feeling that the morons at ESPN would back this fan poll up. :rolleyes: I'm off to bed, and yes, I agree with whoever said(Manute for Ever I think), fans should be stripped of their voting for all things NBA. Sh*ts gotten ridiculous.

I agree with this list. The pick for player of the decade should be pretty obvious, and for obvious reasons too. Imo nobody should be rank over Tim Duncan. there's no clear answer to who the no.2 should be though. both Shaq n Kobe are deserving

You'd take shaq over kobe from 2000-2005, and take kobe over shaq from 2006-2010 imo. In saying that though, what Shaq did from 2000-2005 completely eclipses anything Kobe has done over the 10 year span, and his dominance from 2000-2005 is far far far superior to Kobe's dominance from 2005-2010. IMO shaq should be over Kobe no contest.
Shaq and Duncan is where the real dispute is imo
should have been:
35% Timmy
30% Shaq
30% Kobe
the remaining 5% were idiots doin' it wrong.

I could really see either Kobe, Duncan or Shaq as the player of the decade, depends on which criterias you value the most. If you consider peak play most important, then Shaq is the obivous choice, but if value consistently greatness throughout the decade, Duncan or Kobe is the man to take.
and as many already have mentioned, lebron isn't even in the discussion if we're talking THE ENTIRE DECADE (though he's been ridicoulously great the last couple of seasons).
my top 5 list would probably be like this:
Duncan
Kobe
Shaq
KG
AI/Dirk
Clearly the best 3
1 - Kobe - had his best years the entire decade
2 - Shaq - Most dominate, but 08 and 09 his game fell off
3 - Duncan - Great player, but other 2 where just better to me

I give my vote to Tim Duncan. Great numbers, multiple championships, and no drama. Unlike Shaq and Kobe, Duncan did not choose individual over team.
LOL at Kobe being number 1.For the first 4 years of the decade he was a sidekick and the next 3 years he either missed the playoffs or was eliminated in the first round.So realistically he only dominated 2008 and 2009 so its a joke.

What is more foolish is the moronic agendas on this board......I dont agree with the poll, but acting as if Kobe does not have a case for player of the decade is asinine, i dont care how much you hate the guy...He certainly doesn't have a case over Timmy, in my opinion, but I can see him being named player of the decade.
