hakeem's move on robinson.
that fake spin was so damn quick in the early 90s, rodman does a good job recovering but he was lost for a minute

mj doing it to a great defender :applause:
THIS ONE IS FUNKY.. Walk in my opinion
Nope. Just impeccable foot work. Left foot is pivot foot ... he fakes the defender with up fake, reverse pivot, attack foot step through. Legal.
See thats the problem with a lot of people. If they haven't seen a move before, or it looks illogical, they immedietly cast it off as a travel.
This is just a beautiful move from Kobe.

:roll::roll::roll:
This one looks like a travel as he switched his pivot foot. I'm not sure if he took 3 steps, though.
Edit: Yep, there was a small step but travels like this will not be called in the NBA. Only the obvious ones.

off the charts
The only travel in this thread is that LeBron post up from the 1st game of the season v.s. the Celtics.
I actually love threads like these because this stuff interests me more than player a > player b ... bunch of random, useless stats, without context, etc. PER, win shares ... People can be fooled into certain people here actually know what they are talking about IE Indian Guy, etc.
In THESE threads, you really get to understand people who know the game, and play the game.
:facepalm
Yeah, I hear you. "Are you stupid that's a travel!" :oldlol:
These guys need to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ed9NxevRkm0
and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-j6d2qCkTuY
Kobe and Jordan (who talks about moving your pivot foot, etc) teachin' them fundamentals.

AND shuffled the original (noticeable even in real time) before he blatantly switched pivot feet.
:facepalm

Can't touch this.
Watch the two dumb people in the stands (white t-shirts) motion for a traveling charge.
:facepalm
So many idiot fans don't know the rules of the game.
Jeff Van Gundy gonna rant all over those stupid guys.
AND shuffled the original (noticeable even in real time) before he blatantly switched pivot feet.

It took me a minute to really call it a travel.:lol

Another one who doesn't know the game ... this has nothing to do with "steps" ... it's a travel because he shuffles and changes pivot foot. That's two traveling violations on the same play. There are no "steps" involved here.
It took me a minute to really call it a travel.:lol
Same here :oldlol:
Was thinking, wait, is it just me or was dude shuffling? Hid it pretty nicely but if you keep watching it, you'll be able to spot it.
whats hilarious is that he gets away with this type of crap ALL the time. refs just don't call shit...

With the defender there it is hard to see but you ARE correct.. The Left foot does stay planted on the floor.. I retract my opinion of a walk and still think it is funky ..
IT WAS A WALK..

Thanks. I think I can be better playing and analyzing with what you said.
One thing Hakeem and Kobe have in common: played a lot of soccer as kids... I believe it helps, speaking from experience (I'm British and played soccer almost daily before eventually playing basketball daily in my teens).
I AGREE.. Steve Nash , manu, and tparker all have great foot work as well and I am sure they have all played soccer..
