Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
OK, "will" is probably a little strong but;
Charles Carmouche
Joe Jackson
Chris Crawford
Wes Witherspoon
Stan Simpson
Yeah, never heard of Charles Carmouche and Stan Simpson but they should do start that lineup one game just for shits and giggles.
Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
Yeah, Simpson was a project big at Illinois back like 3 years ago. Superstar body with nobody game type guy, think he flunked out and went to JUCO. Only has like a year of eligibility at Memphis.
Anyway, Memphis has a guy named Hippolyte Tsafack. Game winner.
Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
We've got to think of something else to call Achiuwa other than God's Gift. I just can't type that with a straight face, and it's going to take me a while to remember the correct spelling of Achiuwa. On top of that St. John's has a guy named Sir'Dominic.
They definitely win the award for most ridiculously named roster. I think God's Gift almost wins them the award alone.
Lol, I was thinking the same thing when I saw those names. Apparently Achiuwa's one of six kids and he's got brothers named "God's Will", Precious, Promise, and sisters named Grace and Peace.
Sir'Dominic goes by Dom Pointer which is a lot easier to keep a straight face saying.
Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
Duquesne vs Zona tomorrow night on ESPN2!
I'm interested to see what we look like this year. We lost our two best players but we have some young talent returning. It will be interesting to see the progression TJ Mconnell has made during the offseason. I wonder if he is ready to step up and lead the team.
Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
CSUN dominates Cal Baptist 86-51 in exhibition play. Josh Greene dropped 18 in 15 minutes of play on 5-7 shooting, 4 of those from three. Allen Geui had 13 in 15 minutes off the bench as well as Greene.
Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
Going to opening night, banner raising ceremony, and the official opening of the Drummond show Friday night. Should be fun.
Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
I don't think I've seen a single St. Johns player stay down on a pump fake yet lol.
Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
God's Gift Achiuwa is a beast. Reminds me a lot of Trevor Booker/Gani Lawal.
St. John's is fun to watch.
Zeke Marshall from Akron is an intriguing looking player.

I played against Zeke in HS. He really wasn't very good then, just ****ing enormous. I haven't seen him play tho, hows his game look?

Really raw offensively, but a terror defensively...already had 5 blocks and contested a bunch of shots
Looks like a guy destined to be a 3rd string NBA center, maybe more if he can refine his offensive game more

Sounds like he hasn't improved a whole lot since HS lol.
Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
Duquesne is scrapping but Zona clearly outclasses us. We're gonna need to start hitting jumper if we want to keep it close.
Not a bad first showing from Duquesne. Bad shooting night but we played them tough.
Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
Jail, you go to Duquesne?
Re: 2011/12 Observation Deck
Mississippi St lost at home to Akron by 10
