I'm sure he already contemplates suicide every time he sees Kevin Durant playing on the TV.
A poster at Bedge pointed out Portland could have picked Adam Morrison over LaMarcus Aldridge. After all Aldridge was injured in college and Morrison was a beast. You can't always look at injuries, especially wrist injuries.
The red flag should have been his hip surgery though. Portland did mess up, but not as bad as some people on here think.
Passing on MJ was a huge mistake. Bobby Knight told the Blazers GM he better draft Jordan and play him at center. They had a ton of people telling them to pick Jordan.
Is he out for next season too?

Obviously. It takes a year to get back from that so he won't be back until March 2013.
I had Oden pegged for HOF.
I'm going to make a bold prediction:
Greg Oden is never going to play another game of basketball.
Yep, he's done. If only the Trailblazers could re-do that draft.
People forget Portland had Roy, so drafting the big man wasn't much of a mistake at the time if at all. Stuff happens.

2 issues with that statement
1. Roy and Durant did not play the same position. KD was obviously best suited for the 3, so how does having Roy mean you don't need Durant?
2. The Blazers were equally weak at the 5 (they started Joel Pryzbilla there) and the 3 (starter was Travis Outlaw).

Once you have 3 major surgeries I think you're a lock for the Injury HOF.

It depends on what you value most. Obviously Portland management thought they had had enough inside/outside scoring with Roy/Aldridge and wanted that elite defender/rebounder to counter the likes of Duncan and build around long-term.
With all the surgeries, he is as old as his looks.
It's pretty sad.
The excuse for taking Oden over Durant has always been you need a dominating center to win it all. When was the last time a team with a dominating center won the title? Not since Shaq and that was a long time ago. It's a myth and Blazers have paid that price twice, first with Bowie and then Oden.
