Kidneys only play a small part in filtering alcohol (liver does the bulk). I was still allowed to drink, even once I was put on dialysis. In fact, on dialysis, the alcohol is filtered even better, so generally people don't get hang overs when on peritoneal dialysis and drinking. I never got around to testing that though.
Also, I think I told you that I wouldn't have gone over the top because I had recently had surgery to start doing dialysis.

i don't know you very well but i feel good for you anyway. my stepdad's new kidney is still working great after three years- it's given him a new lease on life.
