This is a great move. Lance had too much pressure on him with his new contract. He's better as a versatile third or even fourth option so he'll fit right in.
Oh. And **** Matt Barnes.
They need to dump Crawford though. As one dimensional as there is. It was a joke watching him trying to back up CP3 at times. Only reason Rivers got playing time was because Crawford can't run an offense to save his life. And zero defense.
Clips did Barnes dirty imo

I feel it's a pretty low risk high reward situation. He is basically a expiring deal and they unloaded Hawes contract who wasn't even playing at the end of the year. He is a playmaker who plays D and can help out the bench. They still have needs but clearly the makeup of the team last year was not going to cut it.
I hear we are signing Paul Pierce outright or dealing Jamal Crawford for him.
That means:
DJ
Blake/Baby
Pierce/
Lance/JJ
CP/ Austin
Definitely need another backup big and another perimeter defender but I like where this is going

I don't think this is the end of dealing for the Hornets. Barnes has a clause in his contract that allows the team to drop him before the season starts. I think the Hornets will do just that. Hawes will split time as backup 4 and 5 and I can see the hornets trading Bismack. The Hornets will draft a shooter (Booker) at 9.
Lance could be a very good fit for the Clippers. He didn't work out in Charlotte because his game is too similar to Kemba's. Both need the ball a lot to score. What the Hornets lacked is 3pt shooting and Lance certainly didn't provide that, shooting an abysmal 17% last season.

Well if the GM that is trying to trade him says so it must be true.
Barnes was the soul of the Clippers. He was the guy that defended the oppositions best wing. He was the guy that stood up for Blake when other teams got overly physical. He was the guy that never got the ball but always contributed somehow. I think his absence is going to leave a gaping hole in that team.
Good deal for both teams. Hawes is on a great contract and is a good match offensively for al Jefferson. Also fits Vonleh or zeller. Good 4 man rotation, and doesn't it save them enough to take another shot at a 1-3 guy in fa?

Talent wise makes a ton of sense for the Clips, but I hope chemistry wise it kills them.
