Better description of him here:
He is a heady point guard who has posted a decent 28.3 assist percentage and a 2.83 assist-to-turnover ratio for his career. He will take care of the ball and be a nice addition to the bench, giving Utah some much-needed depth. He has shown the ability to finish at the basket1. Mack can consistently knock down the mid-range jumper, but is inconsistent from downtown. He is not afraid to mix it up defensively, and uses his body well on that end.

If the Jazz don't trade Burke, he will play a similar role in Utah, but he does have the size to play some at shooting guard, where the Jazz are waiting for Alec Burks to return from injury.
Sounds like to me he's more of a pg but could probably guard some 2's if they put him in with Burke. Snyder hasn't wanted to play small with Burke and Neto though.

Could argue Neto is their only pg. Hayward, Ingles and Burks play more like pg's than Burke. Hood is starting too as well.

Re: 2016 All-Star break/Trade deadline
I haven't a clue as to how good he is. Do you think he's better than Burke?
Re: 2016 All-Star break/Trade deadline
Sounds like he's better in some respects to Burke. Gives them another option.
Mack-truck comes in with some nice athleticism as well, and his 79.50" wingspan is only second to Dante's 81.50".
Jazz have to like that. His D looked good tonight.
The height and wingspan and stuff like that remain static (unless Dante is still growing which we suspect).
Think they said earlier in the year he had grown. Rudy's wingspan got longer from working at P3.
That doesn't mean Burke is an All-Star. It just means that he's had the best on-court, NBA career.
As long as efficiency doesn't matter to you. Based on tonight and the trade rumors I'd say Trey is playing his last couple of months with the Jazz.
But when you look at the analytics, man, Burke is still coming out ahead more often than not. That doesn't mean he's implicitly good -- but out of this foursome he seems to be the prettiest girl at the Wasatch ball.
As I've said that is the problem with this guy. I don't think he watches the games. Trey certainly doesn't look as good as Neto nor has he ran the team or played D as well as Mack did tonight.
The dumb thing is that whenever I do an analysis of these points on our club I end up seeing value in Trey Burke. Some of the more anti-Trey people that communicate with me do not spend hours of their free time looking this up though.
No they actually watch the games and see he is pretty one dimensional. He can score from the mid range. Not a lot else going on.
has yet to take over like he did during March Madness a few years ago.
Pretty confident he never will.
The goal this year is to make the playoffs
Who's goal? The front office would be ecstatic with the lottery.
a goal that normal starter Dante Exum just can't help them achieve this year.
No on from the team has said that.
