Re: How many players will push Kobe out of top 15?
Just to correct a couple things mentioned here. One poster said Bird team improved his rookie year by 17 games, it was 31 games. Another person said Bird was drafted to a stacked team, a team that won 29 games the year before is now considered stacked. Another person said Bird on won 3 chips against weaker competition. So Moses and Dr J sixers, the Bad Boys pistons and Magic's Lakers were weak competition. Not to mention Hakeem and Sampson's rockets.
That Boston team also lost Pistol Pete and another star I forget who though.
Don't kid yourself, Bird has 2 FMVPs and played on a stacked team his entire career in a watered down era, playing with little defense and no longevity. NOPE.
"shot from distance most of the time" averages less than two threes for his career
Kobe won his first ring in his 4th season at 21 years old and was already the closer and the best defensive player on his team. Bird didn't sniff an NBA game until 22.
Bird's passing is overrated. Kobe led 5 title teams in assists.
LMFAO. It's hilarious how delusional Kobe stans are. You seriously believe Kobe had a bigger defensive impact than Shaq? Wow. You either have to be the biggest dick sucker ever or know absolutely nothing about basketball to actually believe this nonsense. Kobe isn't even top 2. (Horry would be 2) This is why it's so hard to take Kobe stans seriously and not just instantly ridicule them...they fanboy to the point of stupidity.

Kobe was the best wing defender in the league and Shaq was a known liability in the pick and roll.
Sleep it off bud.

lol I guess you didn't actually watch basketball in 2000. The year 2000 was Shaq's best defensive season. He was great defensively that season. He was also such a liability he was runner up to Zo in DPOY. Zo had 61 first place votes and Shaq 21. Oh, and EDDIE JONES was the best wing defender in the league in 2000. Don't open your mouth if you have no idea what you're talking about...you just look like a fool.

DPOY voters **** shit up all the time. DeAndre Jordan has received more DPOY votes than Tony Allen and Rudy Gobert on multiple occasions. Eddie Jones was not a better wing defender than Kobe, sorry.

I don't have anything else to say to you if you think Kobe was more impactful defensively than Shaq in 2000. It's not worth my time to argue with with someone who clearly knows nothing about basketball and even more obviously didn't actually watch any of the Lakers during that season. The entire Laker coaching staff would laugh in your face if you said Kobe was the best defensive player of the 2000 Lakers.
I think Kawhi could sneak into the top 10 with another ring as undisputed lead dog. So could Durant. Curry is going to end up around 11th or so as well.
Kobe will drop out of the top 15 pretty soon.
In every single link LeBron was ranked above Kobe. LeBron was usually ranked between 2 and 4 (and some of these were done before he won again in 2020). So you get the picture...
EVERYONE ranks LeBron over Kobe.
If Kawhi wins another FMVP this year does that push Kobe out of top 12?
If Curry wins his 1st FMVP this year does that push Kobe out of top 12?
If Durant wins another FMVP this year does that push Kobe out of top 12?
Is Kobe's top 12 legacy safe with all these players knocking on the door?
