Egokiller: They are playing a sport.. throwing a ball into a hoop. Why does this need to be recognized by the White House? There are people actually making a difference out there.
I'm not criticizing society, I'm criticizing whomever decided that winning at baseball, basketball, and football is good criteria for meeting the president over than say someone who does something heroic. That decision was made long ago. Unless this decision was voted on and brought to the attention of the voters, then your whole example just got shot to shit. You're trying to reach with the whole "don't point fingers if you are doing the same" and it's not working because it doesn't apply in this context. :applause:
Are you telling me that unless an item is brought to a nationwide vote there’s no way to tell if people care or not?
Think about this for a moment.....
What issue could even get the majority to vote in the first place?
You can be president with 63 million votes in a country of 300+ million with 70 million voting for someone else. There is no vote that really tells you what people think.
Apathy wins every election. It would win on the subject of first responders too.
Not caring is what Americans do. It’s why we allow our representatives to not care. We talk shit then do nothing....because we don’t care.

tired of this closet racism in this country, it's gotten so bitterly bad in this country pretty much since obama got in office and started baiting everyone and everything
Some white people just could not stand that a non white was the leader if the country. Not really sure why that bothers people. But then again I
Re: Raptors says a trip to the white house is a "hard no"
If you really think not wanting to see Trump has anything to do with the color of his skin, you're a fcking idiot.
Strange how athletes seemed to have no issue with visiting Reagan, Clinton, Bush etc.
Re: Raptors says a trip to the white house is a "hard no"
Funny thing is Trump didn't invite them
Which is just going to cause more drama for the media to bitch about.
:What, not invite the NBA Champs? **** the president!!"
Jeebus people are so flighty
Re: Raptors says a trip to the white house is a "hard no"

He didn't invite them because he already knew they weren't going...
Trump also broke with the long standing tradition of POTUS throwing out the first pitch at the start of every MLB season because he knew he would get booed like hell :oldlol:
He is just not a popular president outside his 35% base.
Re: Raptors says a trip to the white house is a "hard no"
hard pass on trump. we're already spending enough time with one clown in trudeau no need to visit that textbook 'murrican fastfood eating fat fuck delusional manbaby.
They can't decline an invitation that was never given. Doing so assumes that an invitation was going to be offered in the first place, which it wasn't.
Sure they can. Same as the Warriors in 2017. They let it be known that that wouldn't visit the White House if invited, and then Trump said "Well, you're not invited anyway!". Which would have sounded stronger if he had made his statement up front before the Warriors took their stance, but as it is, Trump comes off sounding like a pissy adolescent.
If trump wants to get in front of this thing, he needs to be decisive. Don't wait for the next championship team to declare "We're not interested in going to the White House!" before you say "I wasn't going to invite you anyway!" That just sounds weak.

Naw, trying to be premature and assume that you were being invited in the first place just comes off as being desperate and as beta as one can be.

We don't even have to go into policy.
Imagine Obama getting elected despite:
1) Not being able to speak proper English nor spell correctly.
2) His THIRD Wife Being a Former Escort from a Former Soviet Union Country who can't speak a lick of English
