Re: 2022 off season Post Gobert. A new era begins
better match up tonite. The guys that did well for the Jazz had a ton of turnovers. Caboclo could be a good 3rd center if they go with Udoka and Kessler. Young vet. Still only 26. He looked good except for the turnovers. His wingspan is only a couple inches less than Rudy's! Of course the crowd was chanting for Tacko while Cabolclo was going to work :facepalm
Re: 2022 off season Post Gobert. A new era begins
Watching a Utah based sports talk show where they've said the Bulls and Jazz had a deal in place for Gobert until the KD news came out and the Bulls pulled out.
Deal was
Gobert
For
Vucevic
Williams
White
3 1st round picks
I know they ended up getting a ton of picks from the T'Wolves, but all the talk was the Bulls wouldn't even trade Vuc and Williams for Gobert, so not sure how the 3 1sts got added too.

didn't want Vuc. Minny is the better deal and the better team. ANT >LaVine

Re: 2022 off season Post Gobert. A new era begins
Windy eventually ended up looking like a profit when Utah dealt All-Star center Rudy Gobert. And now for the first time since his clip went viral, he addressed the reaction to it on his podcast. It helped that it was a holiday weekend, there wasn’t a lot of activity, all that contributed to it. It really became more popular as a meme than actually what I said. Look, I knew the Jazz were pretty close to trading Rudy Gobert. To be honest with you, part of what I was doing was trying to avoid aggregation. … In this world of aggregation, I have to get more creative because you get pinned down on sometimes four words. You say 700 words and you get pinned down to four words,

no reason to think the future is bright. You need a great player to carry a team. They just traded him!

https://sports.yahoo.com/timberwolves-rejected-huge-kevin-durant-221450943.html
That is a lot to ask for Durant and that is why the future Hall of Famer has to seriously consider his options. If the Timberwolves said yes to that deal, then Durant would join a team with just Gobert and D’Angelo Russell as the main pieces along with himself. They would lose a lot of depth and a lot of star power in that move. While they would certainly make the playoffs, a title would be extremely tough.
They would be one of the best teams in the league and legit contenders. Be tough to trade ANT though!

Clarkson, Gay. Beverley and Beasley. They said during the 2nd summer league game that the reason there was no press conference for the new guys yet is because some of them won't be here long. Beasley was at that game so maybe he's staying?
“They clearly have to make more moves,” Bontemps added. “... The Rudy Gobert move isn’t the only move you make. This team was built around Rudy Gobert’s skill sets.”
never built well. Exum /Burke at the 1. Fossils Diaw and Johnson at the 4. Hood starting. Favors and Rubio spotting up in the corner. Expect 1 guy to cover everyone. A coach that refuses to adjust in the playoffs. Wasted his whole career!
The other player that’s been impressive is Xavier Sneed. Sneed has some nice tools with his athleticism and ideal size for a wing, and he’s looking like his shot has improved. You can see why the Jazz have had him on the team. The hope would be that Sneed continues to develop and can be a consistent contributor for the Jazz as they look for more talent to fill the roster for the upcoming season.
Not sure his length but he's 6'5. Not ideal. He seems pretty raw. Plays with a lot of energy. Bit out of control. He might be worth having around. We'll see
The current Jazz roster is lottery bound, so if they either have to make some more moves to be competitive or they should trade Mitchell and go full rebuild. Holding onto Mitchell while going to the lottery doesn't make sense.
Makes sense to me. Tank this year. Great draft in 2023. Get under the cap. See if anyone else emerges to build around. Look to bring in another young star with cap space or hope one develops. If Mitchell doesn't like it see ya!
Donovan doesn’t want to be part of a rebuild and I don’t blame him. Conley and Bogey would be redundant to our plan.
We start rebuilding through the draft. Try like hell to get the 1st overall pick and get Wembanyama. The 7’3 Frenchman who they say is the best prospect in decades. Better than Chet Holmgren or a couple other options could help start the rebuild.
We have some major money to spend on Free Agency and we go after young guys with potential. Solid defenders.
Danny Ainge knows what to do. He’s already done it very successfully.
Why doesn't Mitchell? If not for Gobert Mitchell would have likely been playing on a crappy team for years like most lottery picks. Let's see him carry a crappy team like Gobert did. Exum and Burke at the 1! Seriously?
Finding and developing all-stars in a small market is hard. Don is clearly an all star, and was borderline all NBA this past season (7th in all NBA voting for guards). While I don't think he can be the best player on a championship team, I do think the team is best set up for future success keeping him, rather than moving him for pieces.
I also think it's underrated how much vets can help player development. We've seen recently how young players in MIA and PHO took big jumps with the arrival of Jimmy and CP3 (respectively). So while I expect some of Mike, Bogey, JC, Pat Bev to be moved...I would also expect (hope) some would remain. Even if that means, from an asset play, we don't maximize value, I think for team culture and player development it'll be helpful.
he was borderline all NBA before he disappeared after the all star game. Seriously why is this not the main thing being talked about? What happened? Don't need any of those guys to remain. Cheap young vets like Caboclo will do
