Melo and Camby were their healthy in both of those years.
Didnt Nene have cancer? Torn ACL? I'm pretty sure he was injured both of those years.
They had Carter/AI/Melo/Martin/Camby and bench of JR Smith/Kleiza/trash
Not shallow but nothing I would consider deep. Still, those teams had enough to go far.

I'm talking about prime iverson. Not 32 years old version. You don't think he was same player even he had good stats there,i guess.
Well, that Denver team wasn't championship caliber team as well. Their had major flaws at defense.
Still nothing close to Shaq & Wade or Wade,Lebron & Bosh.
Shits dont get better in past, they are just forgotten in these days..

Re: Wade or Iverson?
Iverson>> D whistle. Wade has been a top 5 player for like 5 years and dude is still irrelevant as fvck.
-
Re: Wade or Iverson?
Iverson without a doubt, clear cut leader on the team. Guy was clutch and for his size dominated other teams. Guys offense was so good we forgave his lack of defense.

Exactly. Put aside both their Ds and look at the offense.
AI could score AT WILL on almost any given day. Teams would constantly double, triple team him yet he would still put up 25-40+ every night. Whereas Wade would struggle on certain nights and would rely on the whistle.
Screw "efficiency." When it comes to offense, they're not even close.

Re: Wade or Iverson?
AI is 5'11" version of Kobe.
Wade is 6'4" version of Drexler.
MJ is 6'6" version of Wilt.
LBJ is 6'8" version of Nique

AI was just a better Franchise leader than Wade.
I equal AI to Kobe. no difference.
except one played for NBA's best, winningest franchise. the other played for PHILLY.
-
Re: Wade or Iverson?
Wade because defense matters. Iverson was bad defensively and compounded the problem because of his positional size forcing his team into awkward lineups.
He only used his quickness to rack up steals, but otherwise at like 170 soaking wet he didn't have the strength or height to stop anyone.

I agree. Iverson was pound for pound the greatest scorer ever and had a higher peek offensively than Wade, but Wade was a more complete basketball player if you factor in both sides of the court. And he was the best player leading his team to a championship. If Iverson won a ring in Philly he would definitely have an argument in my eyes.

Disagree with higher peak offensively, Wade in 2009 put up 30.2 PPG on +5 rTS%, Iverson's best is 33.0 PPG on +1 rTS%, he scored more but on a good deal less efficiency. I'd take Wade, he picked his spots well.

I don't care about efficiency in this case. Iverson was the engine to that Philly offense and option number two on those teams was no one. There was no option number two. Wade got to play with Shaq as a legit second option and had semi-warm years until LeBron and Bosh showed up where he played second fiddle. Iverson averaged over 30 four times in his career while Wade did it once.
To me Wade was more complete offensively and polished, but Iverson had a higher peak in terms of just scoring the ball and being the only offense those Philly teams had.

So winning a ring does that for Iverson? Even tho how he and Wade played remains the same.

Re: Wade or Iverson?
Iverson wasn't as good as Wade.
Iverson had better raw fundamentals but Wade was too quick, too athletic, too crafty. Plus he was taller and bigger.
Both were fearless killers on the court, so I have to give the edge to Wade.

I feel like everybody says that but its not necessarily true the pound for pound stuff. Seems like a title they just give to small guy but I'd rather have somebody like say Curry who was only like 10 lbs heavier but ridiculously better at scoring ~ efficiently shooting and generating GOAT team offense.

Curry will never been considered a scorer. He's a shooter. The same reason LeBron will never been considered a scorer even though he leads in the NBA in all-time points by a mile. And their size differences is more like 20 pounds in their primes, but also it's the fact Curry has 2-3 inches on Iverson. Iverson was roughly 6 feet in shoes, Curry is 6'2". Iverson was 165 in his prime.

Philly wasn't winning with their offense. Their offensive rank was trash and they only had one good playoff run that was built off their elite ranked Larry Brown orchestrated and Mutumbo anchored defense. A long with other goons. When Iverson offensive production was trash in the playoffs his team was still winning like in the 2001 ECF. And then the Black Mamba gave him the kiss of death in The Finals.

Peak AI was better than Peak Kobe.
Reason he actualy won Season MVP over much deserving 2001 Shaq.
while leading the NBA in steals as well.
Hate all you want. Peak AI was always better than Peak Kobe carrying garbage PHILLY to 2001 NBA Finals.
while leading NBA in Scoring and Steals. All done in single season. Only MJ did that.
Now try defending Kobe against this? When was Kobe ever this Peak offensively and defensively ever?

And leading an East team to the Finals in the early 00's is nothing to brag about. Jason Kidd led the Nets to back to back Finals as well during that era.

Re: Wade or Iverson?
Peak AI
--------
2001 NBA Season MVP (beating prime, peak 2001 Shaq)
2001 NBA Finals MVP Runner-Up (destroying 2001 Kobe and losing to Peak Prime Dominant 2001 Shaq)
2001 NBA Scoring Champion
2001 NBA Steals Champion.
only a level below.....
Peak MJ
----------
1988 NBA Season MVP
1988 NBA Scoring Champion
1988 NBA DPOY
1988 NBA Steals Champion
Peak Hakeem
---------------
1994 NBA Season MVP (Beating 1994 Season MVP Runner-up Ewing)
1994 NBA Finals MVP (Beating 1994 Season MVP Runner-Up Ewing)
1994 NBA DPOY
Kobe and Wade never ever came close to AI's Peak.

When someone is referred to as a pure scorer, it usually refers to their ability to score in isolation in a 1 on 1 situation.
-

Wade by a country mile.
Wade in 2009 is better than any AI season.
-
Re: Wade or Iverson?
I usually don't like when people make this argument, but it's the truth in this regard, it's Wade and it's not even close. I've always found Iverson to be insanely overrated.
People bringing up his scoring and scoring titles, the guy was taking 25 shots a night, Wade has 1 season he averaged more than 20, no shit Iverson is going to score more points and win scoring titles taking 25 shots a game. The irony here being that the one season Wade did take over 20 shots a game, he won the scoring title.

Kidd is 6'4", a PG version of 6'4" Wade.
AI is literally 5'11" and some say even 5'10" barefoot.
AI has no business leading a team to NBA Finals amongst the giants. AI was born to be 2nd fiddle to Giants like Shaq, Zo, Duncan and Jokic.
Just imagine what AI would've accomplish he was blessed to be in LAL (Shaq's little bro) or SAS (alongside Duncan). Just imagine!
GTFO with that weak sheet.

Wade UNDERaccomplished compared to AI.
Wade literally sat out 1 season and a 1/2 (aka MJ's retirement time) to give his single best season of 2009.
Thats how much Wade had in his tank interms of endurance, stamina and conditioning. Just 1 Single Season.
Had Wade not ran to LBJ and Bosh for SUPER TEAMing in MIA, His career amounts to good one but not Great one.
Just 1 FMVP isn't enough. to get him over AI.

Reason AI OVERaccomplished at 5'11".

AI when took 30 SPG actually went to NBA finals and actually won NBA Season MVP.
Did 6'4" Wade eve do that. No.
If AI is overrated. so is Wade and Kobe.
If you think Kobe would've had any better career than AI as a HORNET, a non-LAL, you are fooling yourself.
AI for career is 42%FG guy. Kobe for a career is 44-45%FG player.
none of them are MJ, a career 50%FG SG.
only difference is AI and MJ actually get tons of steals. between 2 of them, there are 6 Steals titles.
Neither Wade nor kobe gets any.
