Tell that to all the NBA player's that never made it to 40. I wonder what KG or Tim Duncan has to say about that.

Re: Wilt's Tall Tales
LOL....:facepalm ....WOW....do me a favor and GROW UP...."Testosterone loss in men is a gradual process. Testosterone decline starts around age 30, and may drop 1% to 3 % per year depending on genetics and lifestyle. That means that men can sustain a 20% drop in testosterone by age 50, and a 50% drop by age 80. Each man may experience the symptoms of a decline in testosterone differently depending on what his normal was at his hormonal peak. Often the symptoms are ignored or rationalized away until the resultant decreased functioning becomes a way of life."
testosterone is highest in your late teenage years
are you strongest then??????
come on dude thats not how it works nor is that how the body develops ... these initial early testosterone decreases don't have that much of an impact on strength until later ...
again bwink that is how most men develop like
AGAIN....for the slow person...strength and size are NOT the same. :facepalm
Of course people have a tendency to get bigger as they age...that's common sense...to say they "get stronger" is flat-out retarded.....:facepalm

Re: Wilt's Tall Tales
Strength wise. Not athletically.
Strength can be one of the last things to leave a man but as long as you don't confuse that with power (plus the health of your joints/etc), which all fades rather quickly. Power is strength times acceleration, which might be what bwink is referring too. You won't be doing things like leaping to your max vert or showing off youthful explosiveness into your early 30's, sometimes even your late 20's - to the same degree that you could when you were 21-25.

most of the time it does
most 200 pound men are stronger than 160-180 pound men.

Re: Wilt's Tall Tales
no a 120 lb dude who works out is more likely to be stronger than a more massive 250 lb guy who works out
no correlation between size and strength there ... more mas doesn't mean more strength ... skinny 200 lb jordan was FAR stronger than 220 lb Jordan who was beasting people in the post :hammerhead:

Did you ever see a 24-year old Jordan who weighed 215-220?? WHY?? cuz he wasn't lifting...
23,24 year-old Jordan at 215 would be stronger and more explosive than a 32-year old Jordan at the same weight with the same routine....TRUE STATEMENT

Re: Wilt's Tall Tales
Didn't Greg Oden when he was 20 years old put on 30 pounds of upper body mass within a few months ??

If you believe that a 24-year old, 215 pound Jordan who's being weight training since 16-18 years old wouldn't be stronger and far more explosive than a 32-year old 215-pound Jordan who's been weight training since the same age.....

Upper body mass does not equal lean muscle. Read some real facts, son.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/maki2.htm
The Colgan Institute of Nutritional Sciences (located in San Diego, CA) run by Dr Michael Colgan PHD, a leading sport nutritionist explains that in his extensive experience, the most muscle gain he or any of his colleagues have recorded over a year was 18 1/4 lbs. Dr Colgan goes on to state that "because of the limiting rate of turnover in the muscle cells it is impossible to grow more than an ounce of new muscle each day."
You can find similar tall tales about many celebrities prior to I'd say the 70's.
It's mostly BS at the end of the day.

Re: Wilt's Tall Tales
Let's talk about the final wilt "tall tale" that's not really a tale and has been confirmed by almost anyone that played with him. His manlihood, i.e. His **** size. He was said to be carrying around a monster in his pants, and there is this story that in the 70s a lot of reporters went into the locker room to interview wilt, and wilt had "forgot" to wear his underwear or towel. So he was answering questions in the nude, and of all people Marv Albert was there to hide wilts ***** from the cameras...how he did this I'm unsure of but he says in his sports career it was one of his most embarrassing moments. Anyone who can share stories of this please do!!
Now let's think of the the 2 players he's typically compared to...MJ and Shaq. Both players have reputedly small c0cks given their size. And bad in bed too rofl. Wilt? He was an alpha in the sack, that's the troof.
