Take away the injuries that Utah had to wrestle with all year long and there
The Golden State Warriors hope to get injured reserves Shaun Livingston and Matt Barnes back from injuries for the second round of the playoffs after having more than a week off between series. The Warriors said Saturday that Barnes has been upgraded to probable for Tuesday night
The injury kept Gobert out of the final minutes of the Game 6 setback, which evened this entertaining first-round series at three wins apiece.

Favors hasn't been great this year, but he came through when the team needed him in this game.
And hooboy, some of that officiating just stunk of the NBA wanting a LA/GS series more than a Utah/GS one.

Yeah I'm not one to complain about the refs much but they were horrible especially when Paul was involved.
Favors had a nice series. The rest between games helped him. Hood not so much!
Lindsey has engineered a textbook rebuilding job: Draft well, hire a great, young innovative coach with a penchant for player development, and slowly, surely supplement the roster with winning veterans.
You forgot luck. Without Gobert they are the Orlando Magic
Lindsey adored All-Star forward Paul Millsap, but let him leave in free agency because there were limits to his spending with a young, developing roster.
Along with Demarre his first mistake. If they had been high priced contracts they left on it would have been one thing but I think they got like 11 million between them per year for 2 years! Or if they'd been like Al Jefferson. But Millsap and Demarree are the type of guys you want on your team.
In some ways, as Ron pointed out, Favors was the more important big in this series. He is better at playing up on the pick-and-roll and he has a better chance to hit a midrange jump shot that DeAndre will give up every possession. In the series, Favors was 1-10 from outside 10 feet but today he nailed a few midrange shots. In addition, the amount of times on the broadcast that I said
The world will frame this Game 7 outcome as something only the Clippers could do, crumbling with a home-court opportunity to advance. That's unfair to the Jazz, and so is the suggestion that the Clippers would have won this series with a healthy Blake Griffin.
Jazz looked better with or without Griffin. Rivers may have made a difference early on though. But the Jazz are the last team to look to for sympathy!

He's barely started to pay it
"He's different than Rudy," Snyder said. "He's a different style of player, and I think some of who he was tonight was a good fit for what we needed."
Where Gobert would roll to the rim and look for lobs, Favors' short-rolls led to open free-throw line jumpers. Where Gobert might sag back in pick-and-roll defense to protect the rim, Favors was asked to push up on the ball handler, helping hold L.A.'s Chris Paul to his lowest scoring total of the series.
Favors was not hitting those shots and the game plan as far as going out on the pick and roll was the same with Rudy. Rudy is just better at doing that and getting back to the rim
