New format is a double edged sword. The 3 game wildcard was thrilling, but I'm fatigued by the time the world series arrives.
Rooting for Astros...I doubt I'll watch a single full game.

:oldlol:
Verlander the worst world series pitcher of all time? He ain't getting the loss tonight but he blew a 5-0 lead
Here comes another Houston World Series choke job :lol
The Phillies are on an incredible run right now. Everything is going right for them.
That furniture store guy is about to lose $10 millions.
Great win by the Astros. That was much needed
1-1

Really good sign for Houston. Framber has been consistently great...except last year when the Braves knocked him out in the 2nd inning twice. Some players can't overcome a failure like that.
Phillies really are gonna pull this off, huh? Lol
What an embarrassing ****ing loss.
The Phillies are damn good but it’s not over yet. Still have hope

It's baseball. Momentum can change on a dime.
It's baseball. Momentum can change on a dime.
True, or it could be karma for Houston cheating their way to a title in 2017

You called it.
Game 3: Phillies tied for the most home-runs in World Series history
Game 4: Astros throw the 2nd ever no-hitter game in World Series history. First one since 1956
Series at 2-2. Verlander needs to ball out tomorrow
Shut those Philly fans up :oldlol:
1 win away :pimp:
Close it out Astros
LFG ASTROS!!!
Happy for the team, the city of Houston, and for Dusty :applause:

Dusty needed. Been a great manager for a long time and he’s such a good dude.
Congrats on Houston's first non cheating WS title
Congrats to Mattress Mack for winning $75 millions as well.
Philadelphia is the first city to lose two major sports championships on the same day.

Someone mentioned this yesterday after the Astros won and that's how I found out the MLS cup was going on. None of the mainstream sports media covers the MLS :oldlol:
I also found it amazing how Philthy Eagles were playing at Houston Texans and Houston Astros at Phillies on Thursday night and road team won both.
Thank you Astro bros, great win even though Altuve didn't really play well all playoffs. Got some young stud pitchers as well as the guy who hit the 3 run HR. I wish the Mets had some studs come up through the system every now and then.

Altuve was horrible in the ALDS and ALCS, but he really picked it up in the World Series. The team really starts with the amazing pitchers though. I think Astros held the Phillies to the 5th worst batting average in WS history.
Not sure how Astros do it but they always manage to find talent. Correa's replacement, Jeremy Pena, is a rookie and he just won the Gold Glove award, the ALCS MVP, and World Series MVP. Dude's a superstar in the making
Javier being the #4 starter is insane.

Aaron Judge won AL MVP
Paul Goldschmidt won NL MVP
Congrats to both! :applause:
Justin Verlander won his 3rd AL Cy Young Award
Sandy Alcantara won NL Cy Young Award
:applause:
Amazing how Justin Verlander won the Cy Young award unanimously at almost 40 years old :applause:
Also amazing how Ohtani finished 4th in the Cy Young voting and 2nd in the AL MVP voting. Best player in the league

Shohei would easily win AL MVP under normal circumstance. Judge's historic AL home run king just can't be denied.
AP: "Trevor Story had surgery on his throwing elbow and is expected to miss most -- if not all -- of this season, delaying the Boston Red Sox's plan to shift him across the infield to replace Xander Bogaerts at shortstop."
Andruw Jones really needs to make the HOF. How can the best defensive outfielder of his era, who also has 434 home runs, not be in?
AAA baseball teams will reportedly have robot umpires and electronic strike zones in 2023, per ESPN and other reports.
ABS, which is the Automatic Balls and Strikes system.
Trevor Bauer is a free agent. Nobody signed him off the waiver wire. So the Dodgers owe him over $22 million.
Andrew McCutchen will rejoin the Pittsburgh Pirates.
He won NL MVP in 2013. He's 36 now.
Scott Rolen only player elected to the 2023 HOF
Congrats to Scott Rolen.
Per ESPN.com: "In December, Fred McGriff was selected as the newest member of the Hall of Fame -- with Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and Curt Schilling denied again."
Scott Rolen only player elected to the 2023 HOF
People on the radio are fed up with the voting for the HOF and believe that Scott Rolen doesn't belong in the HOF compared to some of the others that were on the ballot.
I'd have to look up Rolen's #s compared to other HOFers.
Rolen was a nice player, but his numbers are nowhere near being close to some of the other guys on the ballot. This voting is getting ridiculous and comical.
Todd Helton, Gary Sheffield, and Jeff Kent all have better numbers than Rolen, and those guys can't get in apparently. And I think this was the last year of Kent's eligibility.
Sheffield is most egregious. Over 2600 hits and over 500 homeruns and he can't get in. He's also 30th all-time in RBI's where several players who have less RBI's than him are in the Hall.
There must be a standard. These writers are all biased as hell.

Sheffield was heavily linked to steroids.
Kent's offensive numbers were slightly better but he was an average second baseman and Rolen was a multiple Gold Glover at a more premium position. Plus he was a leader in the clubhouse and Kent was known to be a dick.
Helton is a strange one but I'm guessing the fact that he played his whole career in Colorado was factored in, plus he didn't play a premium defensive position at all.

Then that goes to my point of this voting being a farce. This is a popularity contest with no standards at all. So Sheffield and Kent were *****, but the Hall of Fame isn't about your personality, it's about your statistics.
