People who colonized this land weren't breaking any laws at the time. The natives didn't have them and were technologically behind the Europeans. Sucks for them but that's what it boils down to. Comparing colonization to modern society is a desperate reach.

Those who control media, statistical data, and the educational system control the narrative. Ive said for years Thug is now a code word for stuff that would get faces caved in, in less civil times. Can't say certain words freely without backlash in the 20's so they use safe ones.
