Lots of the guys in this thread were all stars once though, or borderline all stars at least..
Not obscure at all really. Know all of them so far and remember most of them vividly, also because a lot of them played in the beginning of this decade.
I like how many former Blazers were posted:
Stacey Augmon
Gary Grant
Walt Williams
Detlef Schrempf
Terry Porter
Dale Davis
Clifford Robinson
Buck Williams
Ken Norman
Ken Norman was going to be one of my posts. When I was younger I decided I wanted a new favorite player to follow (while retaining my other favorites) so I decided I'd pick up a pile of my basketball cards and count through to a pre-determined number, at which point I'd have a new favorite. That card ended up being Ken Norman and briefly, I began collecting Ken Norman cards.
Also, I sort of liked Blue Edwards:

Fun fact: Cherokee's sister, Corey, was the original bassist for a southern rock band called Nashville Pus*y.

Chris Gatling - a player who could never stay on a roster but always contributed. When he rocked the headband, he looked like a human condom.
Can't believe no one has mentioned Nick Van Excellent.
this thread just shows me how much i need to get out the house and stop watching basketball because ive only seen like three names that i didnt immediately recognize and this is a decade that was a baby in.:facepalm
Willie Burton, Tony Delk, and Tracy Murray all had 50 point games.
99% of these guys being named are not obscure, they are just simply players from the 90's, many of which were good players and even all stars.
Maybe I am being harsh, as 3/4 of the board were in diapers.
Obscure to me would be someone like The Hambone

Did you notice how my topic title says "Slightly obscure nostalgia?"
Slightly means to a small degree
Obscure means not known about
Nostalgia means a longing or appreciation for memories of the past.
So by my definition, these players should be not easily known about, but only to a small degree, and also significant enough players to bring back good memories from the 90s.
That doesn't mean go back and find the 12th guy on a random NBA roster and post his name. That's not very nostalgic.
Kids these days wouldn't know who 75% of these players are, but us posters who followed basketball in the 90s will, which is exactly the point.

Again, that means they are doing something right. Because you remember these guys, but they weren't superstars or anything.
Michael Jordan would not be considered "slightly obscure."
But Roy Marble would not be considered "nostalgic" because no one even has any good memories of him.
We're talking about guys in between.
