Re: Heat 'fans'
I'm guessing it's because the Knicks are a trash team and it's fun to laugh at Melo the career loser.
It's even more fun to laugh at this team because Knicks fans have been the cockiest fans on this board and comletely overlooked this Indiana team that is now going to crush them in 5 games. Even this years shit Lakers team would have beaten a Melo lead Knicks team in the playoffs if they were in the East and Kobe was healthy :lol
I'd probably even take Chris Bosh as first option on a team over Melo. At least he would shoot about ten percentage points higher :lol
And now they're all mad at me for pointing this out, lol...I'm like, this can't be news to Knicks fans can it?

Re: Heat 'fans'
The join date doesn't mean anything to me. I'm not a bandwagon fan because of my join date. The April posters did not become fans in April. Through all the trolls that every fan base has, there are a few good quality posters. The Heat fan base on ISH is horrible, but down here we are quite classy and supportive. At least the people I'm around are. We've gone to a lot of games long before the Big 3, but I understand the casual Miami crowd is fickle.
But this is what I see...I don't think the Heat fanbase is that bad...Last year during the playoffs, they were almost unbearable but like someone else mentioned, they do have the best player in the league and the best team, they are a bit justified. Lakers have a ton of trolls to but guys like 9erempire make the rest of them look a lot worse than they are...

Yeah. It's hilarious how they saw Melo go on a hot shooting streak and all of a sudden thought at his age he had become a much improved player, when these playoffs have made it crystal clear that he's still the same one dimensional career loser he's always been.
It's understandable that Knicks fans are upset right now, since they thought they had such a bright future, when it is now clear that they've got nothing but mediocrity ahead of them as long as Carmelo is on the team. New York Knicks are not a top 8 team in the league. When healthy, these teams are all better..
Heat
Thunder
Spurs
Bulls
Grizzlies
Pacers
Warriors
Clippers
Celtics
Rockets
Wait.. maybe I overrated them by calling them top 8. In an entirely healthy league, the Knicks are a borderline top ten to eleven team.
And Knicks fans were taunting Heat fans asking them if they are scared :lol Now they're gonna get smoked by Indiana and of course blame the refs for loosing them the series.

If bandwagoners want to bandwagon, let them. It only takes away from their experience.
What made last year so special to me was that I was around for the 15-67 season, the years where our starting frontcourt was Yakhouba Diawara, Joel Anthony and Michael Beasley, and Wade singlehandedly carried us to the playoffs two years in a row. For those that jumped on when the Heat became great, they will never have the same feeling of happiness and accomplishment that the real fans had.
Just because there are a lot of bandwagon Heat fans does not mean we are all that way.

I believe you for this, it can be said for all fans except when it comes to the Knicks.

And it's people like you that we all respect. The reason I put 'fans' in inverted commas was only to show the bandwagon side of it. Wasn't so much that they bandwagoned, they just go into other threads and ruin anyone that doesn't talk about Lebron.

I understand completely. There are tons of Heat fans that make me sick, because they weren't there for the years when it wasn't all sunshine and happiness. But that's what makes the experience so unfulfilling for them.
There are lots of trolls in general here. It's impossible to have a discussion with some kind of agenda or bias. That's why I rarely post - I have a low postcount but I constantly lurk. It's because by posting, more often than not you get involved in an argument with a troll rather than having a real basketball discussion.
I have two friends in real life who are huge basketball fans. They are fans of the Lakers and Knicks, respectively. I constantly have legitimate basketball discussions with them, with no arguing or agendas - if we disagree with eachother, we try and understand where the other is coming from, since the Knick fan would know more about Melo than I would, and vise versa. That's how ISH SHOULD be.
I love ISH, but it is a shithole.

The Marion for O'Neal trade turned out to be great for the Heat. Got to save all that cap money to get LeBron and Bosh.

Yeah, that was a great trade. Jermaine stunk it up in the playoffs, but like you said, his contract expired at a perfect time. It also allowed us to get rid of Marcus Banks, an awful contract.
I remember off season of 2008 the Heat were considering giving Marion a huge extension... I was saying nooooo at the time, because my ideal scenario for 2010 was Bosh and a good complementary piece, like Randy Foye. Seriously. That's why when LeBron signed, it was so amazing - it completely exceeded our expectations.

Re: Heat 'fans'
To me a Heat "fan" is someone who likes the Heat and whose allegience is not tied to Wade or Lebron. If your allegience to the Heat will wane when either is gone, you are not a Heat fan, you are a Wade or Lebron fan rooting for the team they are on.
Heat "fans" in general are a joke because 95% of them fall into the Wade/Lebron fanboy category. The real fans who love the team and just struck gold, you know who you are. But there aren't that many.
Just out of curiosity, when did you first start supporting the Heat?
I was making game threads as soon as I joined. Wade is my favorite player.
Look for them if you dont believe:cheers:
