Re: 2023 off-season
At the very least I like we're taking guys who have modern skills sets. Taylor Hendricks especially could be important because as good as Kessler is, he still may have that Rudy problem of getting played off the court in playoff basketball. Hendricks could be the perfect guy you bust out as a small ball 5 and still get some shot blocking with the added shooting.
Nice change from the "We need to use our 1st rounded to cover the 8 minutes a game Rudy doesn't play with an exact clone of him, rather than an obvious weakness" drafting from 4 years ago.
Kessler still has to show he can guard in space. Gobert's problem is he never had a Henricks or even Lauri or Olynyk other than Favors in the corner from 3! Quin getting rid of his big for the guy he benched and pissed off two years ago. Maybe O'Neale is available? He'd actually be a great fit with Hardy too. Plays hard and unselfishly.

Re: 2023 off-season
Dang, got Collins on the cheap. I know Ainge has been chasing him for awhile and while he shot poorly last year he was back up to that 38% mark post All-Star game, so hopefully that's a sign his finger isn't an issue any longer. All reports are he's a great locker room guy too, which will be a bonus since Gay was supposedly a grumbler whenever he didn't get minutes. Doubt we had any immediate needs for the cap space, so assuming he doesn't take his player option it's a 2 year deal for him, which will round off just as we got a few guys like Lauri to re-sign. At worst he takes his player option and he's off the books when Sexton, Agbaji and Kessler are due for deals.

Yea, trying to turn Favors into a corner 3 guy was a terrible move. Got Lauri and Collins now to space the floor.

sounds like he's the guy they've wanted for a while and to only give up a 2nd and cap space while getting rid of Gay! Another versatile big to plug in with all the others now. Maybe they can unlock something like they did with Lauri. They going to let Olynyk go now? Partial guarantee. Doesn't sound like Sexton is in their long term plans. They want to get bigger at the 1. They want George at pg eventually it sounds like. I'm guessing Lauri and Collins will be gone as well if someone like Donic becomes available Their 3 rookies and last years rookies are on a different timeline than Lauri.

Kessler will shoot more 3's going forward as well I imagine. Might want to keep him around the rim as much as you can though

Re: 2023 off-season
Talen picked up his option. Be interesting if they keep him around. Clarkson has until July1st
Sexton/Dunn(partial guarantee)/Talen Horton Tucker
Agbaji/George/The Bum(player option July 1)
Lauri/Simone/Sensabaugh/Hauser(2 way)Kinsey (Exhibit 10)/Juzang(RFA)
Collins/Olynyk(partial guarantee)/Samanic/Hendricks/Potter(RFA)
Kessler/Jones/Carey Jr.(non guarantee)/Udoka(FA who I can't imagine will be back in Utah)
should be changing in the next few days!
[h=2]Utah Jazz Summer Leauge Coaching Staff[/h] Current Jazz assistant Evan Bradds will serve as head coach for the Jazz in Salt Lake City. Sean Sheldon, Chris Jones, Mike Williams, Steve Wojciechowski, Anthony Beaumont, Lassi Tuovi, Joseph Gomis, and Emmanuel Mavomo will also be on the roster.

don't recognize many names on the staff anymore. They all went to Atlanta!
Woj would seem like a real get for the Stars though. Big time college coach

Re: 2023 off-season
looks like Juzang and Potter will get a chance to come back. Juzang seems more likely because he's more of a wing. He also got a lot more run at the end of the year with the Jazz. Doesn't look like an NBAer except his body. Don't have much room for any bigs on the roster right now. With the 3 firsts they will be looking for two more 2-way players and more exhibit 10/camp/Stars bodies. The 1st and 3rd pick coming off injuries. Might be cautious with them. George should play unless they want to throw him in a trade
https://lebronwire.usatoday.com/lists/2023-lakers-draft-prospect-profile-taevion-kinsey/
sounds like he's a playmaker and scorer but not a consistent long range shot. He's an Exhibit 10 so we will probably see him in camp and with the Stars
https://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Yauhen-Massalski-97198/
sounds like a rim runner and defender. Coming off a knee injury so they may be looking out him longer term?
Nick Ongenda is maybe a shot blocker and rim runner as well? Had an injury this past season too
Colbey Ross I did see in college. Small scoring and playmaking pg. Not a great long range shooter
Ed Croswell doesn't look like much on paper
https://lebronwire.usatoday.com/lists/2023-lakers-draft-prospect-profile-kihei-clark/
small and didn't do much in college offensively. Plays D
Hauser maybe more of a stretch 4. Great shooter. Some rebounding

Re: 2023 off-season
I'm thinking Olynyk and Clarkson are gone. Doesn't make much sense to have them back. Olynyk might make it to the trade deadline but he's at best their 4th big now no matter what the rooks do. Samanic could fill that role a lot cheaper and Jones is ok after that. The guy they drafted sounds like Clarkson but 19 and hopefully teachable.
I would think they'd be looking guard for the rest of their cap space plus Olynyk possibly Talen and ideally Simone. They have a bunch of smaller trade exceptions and of course all of the 1sts!
Tony Brown might fit. Looks like he's starting to get it at 23. Ty Jerome maybe? Probably get him. GS has their tax issue as always! Love to see Alec Burks back with COTM gone but I think Detroit likes him. Ingles in a minor role on a minimum but not sure he can play guard anymore. House would fit great with Hardy too.

Re: 2023 off-season
a trade might be a better route. Looks like slim pickings on the free agent market at guard
Little rumblings popped up around the draft that Sexton could be part of a package to trade up for a higher pick. As we know, nothing materialized. However, Sexton’s name has still been floating around. One team, in particular, has been the Milwaukee Bucks who think the combo-guard could be a nice fit in new coach Adrian Griffin’s system.

Sexton to Bucks? Don't really see a trade that works there. Maybe after July 1st it will? Grayson and something for Sexton? Could make sense depending on what their plan is for the 1. Dunn, Talen and George I guess if it comes down to it
