Is that a busy day; are you open 5 days a week?
4 days a week and some days are much busier. The recession has hit us all but overall it's not been too bad. Now you need to realize that this is gross income. I'm sure Starface will remind us of that. It'll be fun to see what he estimates my overhead is.
Most dentists work M - T off every Friday, no exceptions. That's how my dentist is, and the one I had before that. Pretty much a commonplace in the field.
That has not been my experiences with dentists.

Re: starbright, starlight, starface...
There's some venom being spewed from all angles in here. Nothing but vicious snakes :ohwell:
Serious question for Starface- what have you done besides talking on a message board about what you're going to do? Not trying to be a d*ck, just wondering if you've taken any classes, have any footage for a reel, have you gotten any ross reports, what's your 5-year plan? Basically what cards are you holding that will make a casting director or agent take 15 seconds out of their day to acknowledge you exist besides your self-proclaimed awesomeness?

Yeah, I'm not stupid enough to think that's your gross profit per day or that you were insinuating it was.

Re: starbright, starlight, starface...
Wow, 30 patients in a day huh? As I look online, that's well above the average number reported.
Also, healthcaresalaryonline.com reports that the average annual salary for a dentist is 135k per year. But the figure you made today, averaged over a year, would be just over 2 million. My, you're doing well.
By the way, the figure I'm making, extrapolated over a year, is 148k
:pimp:
You have serious issues to do all this footwork in an attempt to disprove someone ONLINE, when there's absolutely no way you can validate your claim.

My father works M-F with Thursday off and works Saturday mornings. But we've radically cut down on the number of patients and focus on larger procedures, especially after he received a new implant degree. Eases the workload.

Maybe not so much commercial dentists, but private practice.

Actually the number of patients is low. I have 2 hygienists that are each capable of seeing 12 patients a day and I could see double what I'm seeing now. I don't know where you're getting your figures but for my area I am very average. Last year I grossed over 2 mil, taking home 390,000 before taxes. On the street where I live I probably have the lowest income. But who cares? I'm comfortable.
And incidentally, I made more just today than your whole 17 day package is gonna pay.

hah.

390k is good though, if thats the lowest in your neighbor hood then your doing something right. My parents combined only make 60k a year so...

Well I've never seen, nor do I even know, what a commercial dentist is.

Implants are becoming more and more popular. To my knowledge the procedure, materials, etc is not covered by most dental insurance, because it's considered a cosmetic operation.

So YOU made 1,870 dollars today, provided you're not lying about your annual, which you most likely are.
7k+ today....
hah.
Well in your situation you probably won't have any tax hit on that since it will be the only income you make all year.
