Re: [Breaking Tweet] Lebron may be juicing: He and Agent associated with 'Roid Clinic
I've also wondered why it would make a difference if NBA players were using PED's. They still have to put the ball in the hoop, which no amount of PED's can improve. That's purely hand-eye coordination. But then why does it matter so much in baseball? Hitting a 95-mph fastball is arguably tougher than hitting an off-balanced 3-pointer. Barry Bonds, without steroids, would still be one of the best sluggers in baseball. But because he juiced up, when he DOES hit the ball, it carries that much farther - often making the difference between a 300-ft double and a 320-ft home run.
For the NBA, PED's would certainly help players to run faster, jump higher, etc., but not by a ton. It's unlikely an NBA player jumping 37 inches at his max vertical to add another 10 inches to his vertical because he's taking PED's. But let's say he even adds 2 or 3 inches to his vertical. If he goes up for a dunk, that could make the difference between him getting blocked by the finger tips of the defending center and a dunk. Blocked... or scored. THAT's why it's cheating.
Let's take the analogy a little further... What if some tech lab developed a pair of shoes with springs on them that make you jump 10 inches higher? You think the NBA is going to allow those? Even if it makes the game more exciting to watch? By that logic, Slam Ball would still be around. Sports are supposed to celebrate what the natural man can achieve with his own body - it's not impressive if someone can do some cool tricks with the help of PED's, a bionic suit, or anything else extraneous that enhances what you couldn't do on your own.

Its a weak tweet and definitely not worth discussing. He says "may" and "linked." We are all linked to everything in the internet age. Anybody who puts "may" in their tweet is a gossip columnist.
