Damn. And we thought Padres would have a great chance to win it all when Tatis Jr. coming back. :ohwell:
You come across as very standoff-ish to me.
I don't need to be a professional baseball player to know about baseball. Are you in the big leagues? What team ya play for? I've been following baseball a lot longer than you, but this isn't a dick measuring contest between the two of us, so I'll leave it at that.
Yea I went overboard; like I said I hate being that guy. It just seems like there are certain things that you think that are old-school and unwavering, and you lack perspective. Things like mentioning Ohtani's .260 or whatever batting average when he's OPSing at .970. Your whole Ohtani take in general really is kind of a microcosm of what I'm talking about.
I'm sorry, but being a great clubhouse guy is nice, but so is Guillermo Heredia. And there's a reason why Heredia doesn't play every day. Dude can't hit.
Completely different category though. Being a locker room guy isn't just being nice and high fiving. You have to have intelligence, wisdom, stability, etc. that make a really difficult game seem less daunting to others, even those who are more talented. Again, these things matter. It's why teams that win the WS often aren't the most talented.
We agree that he has great defense. But the Braves had arguably the best defensive SS in all of baseball at the time in Andrelton Simmons and they still dealt him away to the Angels for nothing.
While losing Simba was painful, that was in the middle of a complete rebuild. And Andrelton couldn't hit at all really.
At the end of the day though I don't disagree. Arcia getting hurt is actually the best thing that could have happened to us because now we get to actually see what Grissom looks like on the major league level, which will help with the decision with Dansby. Because he'll get less years but his yearly salary will probably be higher than Austin Riley next year.
DeGrom gonna deGrom. Dude might be the best pitcher we see in our lifetimes. I did see Pedro in his prime though. And is deGrom better? Prob not but he's comparable.
He's gonna opt out. Kinda disappointing after he didn't pitch for a season but he's the best pitcher in baseball so he wants to be paid like it. Can't assume everyone will be back, this could be the best chance the Mets get to win it all. Uncle Steve can entice people to come here but sometimes a dude wants to go back home to the west or texas.

He’s every bit as good as peak Pedro. He doesn’t hit as many innings because of the way the game is now and the Mets bullpen is amazing.
But it’s wild because dude has an amazing change up and great curve that he doesn’t even need to use. Truly insane.
As he has been the last 3 years, deGrom is absolutely the best pitcher I’ve ever seen.
The Yankees are gonna choke this season away and actually miss the playoffs :oldlol:.

I suggest you take a look at the collapse that is happening right now in the Bronx.

I had a friend say that to me at a cookout over the weekend. Seems like a longshot, but we've seen massive collapses before. Yankees have a lot of games remaining against AL East teams.

They hit a rough patch, they're still 28 games over .500. They'd have to literally lose every game the rest of the way to miss the playoffs, lol.
sportsurge.net, people.
The Braves are an absolute wagon.
Ever since LaRussa was sidelined on doctor's orders, the White Sox offense has exploded, they're finally hitting HRs and winning :lol
Don't stop now boys!
