Re: 3ball, why can LeBron win with Irving, but KD can't?
I think I can say with relative certainty that this Celtic team with prime versions of Tatum and Brown is better than any team LeBron ever faced out east besides the 2008 Celtics.
The only player LeBron ever faced in the playoffs over his entire career out east that was on tatums level was 08 KG. And he got curb stomped by him.
tpols is legitimately the least knowledgeable poster on the forum. Yeah, LeBron was dreadful the first half of the series, but they took the Celtics to the limit where he dropped 45 on them in Game 7. If LeBron got curb stomped how would be describe what happened to Kobe :lol

Kobe didn't have a 4-game stretch of shooting 25% while turning the ball over ~6 times a game in the Finals. Stop it. he had 27/5/6/3 3.3 TOV 43.2%FG through the first 4 games and they were still down 1 - 3 while Bran's team was tied 2 - 2 and could have been up 3 - 1 if he was just a little better than 2/18 with 10 TO in that 4-point Game 1 loss. Cavs won 3 games with Bran shooting below 40% in all of them.
KG outplayed Bran in the semis, just admit it. You don't have to bring Kobe into this.

Lebron averaged 26 on 35% in the 2008 2nd Round and was 100% shut down - a worst-ever performance
Were you aware of this before you posted that basic one-legger?
Lebron embarrassed himself in that series and the Cavs' defense kept them in it . then he was curb-stomped again in 2010 - he lost by averaging 21 on 34% for the last 3 games in an epic upset loss

LeBron shot on 35/23/76 in that series. He got absolutely owned by KG and that defense. These are facts bro. I'm using numbers for the whole series while you're cherrypicking.

You’re cherry-picking shooting splits and ignoring anything else that might have happened. Bro

:biggums:
You have to hold the L on this one bro. You can't defend 35% shooting from the floor, 23% from deep and 75% from the line with a ton of turnovers. He had a horrible series. Are you seriously disagreeing with that? Am I gonna defend 2004 Kobe or 2016 Currys Finals performances? No. They played badly. It is what it is.
Name a team that LeBron faced in the East playoffs that was on par with prime Tatum Brown Celtics. Ill wait. The 2015 Hawks? 2011 Bulls? The Craptors? Who you got?

I don’t really need to defend anything tho. Did he shoot poorly? Sure. Did he have quite a few turnover? Sure, but the series number is skewed by the 10 TOs in 1.
But he did literally everything else at a very high level and they were what..4 points from winning the series? That’s not a curbstomping. The Cavs outscored and had a higher ORTG than the Celtics.

The fact that Lebrons team could carry him to an almost win while he produced that horribly is only proof that he had more help than people realized. Superstars rarely win with that type of production. It was all time bad. The fact that you are defending a blatantly terrible series is quite telling. LeBron wasn't even a good defender back then. His offense was 90% of his impact.
But again... name the team he faced out east on par with this Celtic team. Better yet... name a 1st round opponent he ever faced as good as this Celtic team. :oldlol: This is relevant context to the premise of this thread.

He also claimed the Bulls got curb stomped by the Knicks in '94 :lol

I feel like you just parrot narratives and don’t actually analyze anything.
Check what Paul Pierce did in that 2-18 game Lebron had. Check who was guarding him.

I seriously doubt any impact stats support LeBron not being a good defender in 2008 either lol

You just described how the Cavs' defense kept them in the series despite a bed-wetting Lebron (26 on 35%)

It was a slow-paced, poor shooting series from both teams.
Lebron scored 27..the second leading scorer for the Cavs had 12 (on 42%). That’s worse than Pippen ever did. So he wasn’t carried to shit.

Re: 3ball, why can LeBron win with Irving, but KD can't?
This is not about Irving or Durant.
Tatum is just too good... This playoff is his superstardom coming out party.
