Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
Allan Houston is my last pick: a great shooter who played in a physical era.
Robertson | Frazier
Petrovic | Thompson
Bryant | Houston
McAdoo | Horry
Chamberlain | Thurmond
Versatile enough to play big, small, mean, fast, and skilled enough to excel at all of them.

Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
'82 Robert Parish: 20 pts, 11 rbs, 2.5 blk on 54 FG% | All-NBA Second Team
C - '90 Ewing | '82 Parish
F - '04 Garnett | '77 B. Jones
F - '13 LeBron | '05 Bowen
G - '03 McGrady | '08 Ginobili
G - '03 Kidd | '17 Irving
Most underrated part of Parish's game? His mobility, he was one of the best fastbreak centers in the game.
Also had a habit of owning Moses Malone in the postseason.

Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
^^ Dude, you have no shooting besides Allen. Magic, DJ, Drexler, & Worthy can't hit 3s, you have no spacing. Your team would be great in 1985, in today's game they would get slaughtered by my team. :D
-
Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
i need a big who can play with any of my bigs and shoot/defend/pass since my 2nd unit has enough scoring. Going with 18 horford just for the 43% from 3.
I dont love how my draft went but I think my team is really good.
00 Shaq/18 Horford
16 Green/19 Giannis
04 Peja/04 Kirilenko
09 Wade/01 Carter
68 West/19 Lillard
I got admittedly not the best guard defense outside wade but guard defense is the least important. Green and kirilenko and/or giannis is a monster combination defensively.
Can usually have 3 shooters on the court, sometimes 4. Ofc I have an easy formula for a baseline offense. Just do what do 05 heat did along with some triangle you seen from the shaq/kobe 3 peat with wade/carter replacing kobe.

Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
some teams are obviously not going for a modern style. The question is that 70s-80s style of just running and posting up 4 of your starters with like one or two designated jump shooters and crashing for every board going be effective enough.

yea i would say this teambuilding is a little flawed. Magic isnt like most pgs, he doesnt operate nearly as much out of the pnr. Lot of his scoring comes from postups which will just clash with malone. Like a fastbreak with magic/malone is monstrous but I specifically would slow the game as much as possible

Your team is top shelf defensively, but not sure it's there on offense. Particularly in the front court.
Are Ewing, KG and lebron going to be able to score efficiently against elite defense. I'm not sure. Then you have parish, Jones and bowen as backups.
Most front courts in this league have more fire power. And for the most part also have very good defense at each position.
-
Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
it's obvious fit won out over talent overall. No one touched westbrook :lol

I'm not too worried with scoring. LeBron is LeBron, he is scoring on anyone regardless. Ewing averaged 29 points a game in '90, he averaged 32 points vs the Bird-McHale-Parish Celtics in the playoffs, then averaged 27 points vs a legendary Bad Boys Pistons defense in the next series. Then I have a MJ-Kobe level scorer in the backcourt with McGrady who puts up 30+ points a game.
That is basically 3 guys who can put 30+ points on consistent basis, Parish was a 20 ppg player, Irving and Ginobili also give me 20+.
I don't think offensive firepower is really an issue in these All-time drafts, it's just how they all fit together. I think I have the best combo of talent, scoring, defense, & shooting.

Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
arenas will play the same way like steph
klay guard the best guard and be the shooter,he don't want to driblle much
doctor good defender,he will score most of the time in fastbreaks and lobs, fist sub
bird clutch, gives everything for the team, and help the offence
duncan play elite defence, and help the offence,he doesn't have to try much
klay duncan and bird don't care for stats but for the win so we will not have problem
pisto pete will create for the team ,spark for 2 unit, and shoot
iggy will play to control the tempo,i can use him as pg with klay sg to have elite defence in guards,
barry will play sf and pf ,scorer and can open the space
gasol can do everything for the team, score from midrange, pass, defende and don't care for stats
yao will help against big men, defence in the paint, and on offence will score against small matchups
almost all players can score from outside and the lane will be open

Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
OK sorry for the delay...
My last pick is 1993 Dan Marjerle, who was an AS, All-D and hit the most 3s in the league. He will play primarily at SF.
Majerle is a 3x All Star, 2x All-D, prolific 3pt shooter, thunderous dunker and perfect complement to a team full of superstars.
The early-mid 90s Suns had the best offense in the NBA, with Thunder Dan taking and making the most threes in the league in both 93 and 94 at a healthy 38%... largely off the back of kick outs from Barkley doubles.
Marjerle completes a roster that has no passengers on offense. Every single player adds something and demands attention on that end. His inclusion also ensures that I have an All-D option at every position, with my back up C also being All-D 1st team.

Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
Team AussieSteve... Elite in every facet of the game.
Point Guard
Starter: 2014 Chris Paul
19 / 4 / 11 / 37%3pt / 58%ts
- All-NBA 1st
- All-D 1st
- led league in assists and steals
- doesn't turn the ball over
- shot 39% from 3pt on 3.8 attempts over the RS & PO combined
Reserve: 1993 Mark Price
18 / 3 / 8 / 42%3pt / 61%ts
- All-NBA 1st
- won the first of back-to-back 3pt contest wins
- can play back up PG or secondary ball handler / spot up shooter beside CP or Harden
Shooting Guard
Starter: 2018 James Harden
30 / 5 / 9 / 37%3pt / 62%ts
- All-NBA 1st
- MVP
- Scoring champion
- Led Rockets to 65 wins and almost to the finals
- might play off the bench with Cooper starting, if playing a team with a MJ / Kobe / Wade tier SG
Reserve: 1987 Michael Cooper
10 / 3 / 5 / 39%3pt / 54%ts
- All-D 1st
- DPOY
- shot 41% from 3pt over RS & PO combined, with the most makes of any player in the league
- could start alongside CP if defense in the back court is a priority
Small Forward
Starter: 1963 Elgin Baylor
34 / 14 / 5 / 52%ts
- All-NBA 1st
- Runner-up MVP
- GOAT rebounding at the SF position
- super athletic wing able score from anywhere and facilitate for others.
Reserve: 1993 Dan Majerle
17 / 5 / 4 / 38%3pt / 57%ts
- All Star
- All-D 2nd
- attempted and made the most 3 pointers in the league
- elite off-ball catch and shoot wing, who could also put the ball on the floor, get to the basket and throw down a monstrous dunk
- if defense at the 2 is an issue, then Majerle can play stretches at SG with Harden playing reduced minutes or at PG.
Power Forward
Starter: 1988 Charles Barkley
28 / 12 / 3 / 66%ts
- All-NBA 1st
- led league in offensive boards
- led the league in efg% and ts%
- arguably not the best version of Chuck but was completely unstoppable inside at this point of his career. What does the the defense do... send a hard double to Chuck and leave three 40% 3pt shooters waiting for the kick out, or let Chuck get to the basket and get And-1s all game long?
- Chuck was also a decent secondary rim protector at this point of his career and an animal on the offensive boards.
Reserve: 1975 Elvin Hayes
23 / 12 / 3 / 50%ts
- All-NBA 1st
- All-D 2nd
- Hayes was a monster on the boards, a great rim protector and his turnaround was jumper was automatic. He was a 1970s Karl Malone who could also block shots
Center
Starter: 1977 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
26 / 13 / 4 / 56%ts
- All-NBA 1st
- All-D 1st
- MVP
- averaged 35 / 18 on 61%efg in the playoffs
- probably the best all round center ever in terms of scoring, facilitating and defense as a package
Reserve: 1983 Moses Malone
25 / 15 / 2 / 58%ts
- All-NBA 1st
- All-D 1st
- MVP
- FMVP
- perhaps the greatest offensive rebounder of all time
- could play PF alongside Kareem for the GOAT twin towers tandem ever
Strengths
- Rebounding; particularly on the offensive boards. The number of 2nd chances this team would get on offense is insane. At any given time, this team is almost certain to have two of the best three rebounders on the floor.
- Inside scoring. Chuck, Kareem, Moses, Hayes. Enough said.
- Perimeter shooting. All four guards and Majerle are very good to ATG 3-point shooters. That's five guys capable of lighting it up from outside.
- Interior defense. Kareem, Moses and Hayes are all All-D selections, averaging >2 blocks per game. Chuck was tough to move in the post and blocked plenty of shots c.1988 also.
- Perimeter defense. Cooper is DPOY; CP3 is All-D 1st team. Both back court positions covered. Majerle is also All-D and can guard the 2 or 3.

Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
Here's my lineup analyses: Starting lineup means a lineup that works on most teams or plays the majority of minutes, since it presents the most problems on offense and is at least competent defensively. But should the circumstances demand it, I will switch to a small ball lineup, or a hurry-up offense in order to keep up with high powered offensive teams
-
Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
C is elite D but not much fire power, though Zo was legit but George Mikan?

Don't need a post up game when you got MJ dominating the paint or Stockton running pick and rolls with Webber and Sheed. Webber on his own always gave the business to Garnett and Duncan. Bulls never had a dominant post scorer to run their succesful offense. Plus Iverson and Nique off the bench provide enough firepower to sustain.
And when you have Stockon you just need to catch the ball.

Re: All-Time NBA 10-Man Lineup Fantasy Draft
I don't know why the critique about being soft in the middle when the defensive system is the best in this while draft.
Jordan, Stockton, and Pippen on the perimeter locking down, and if someone does break through you have the best face up shot blocker of all time. And if you want to add to that defensive depth Zo played PF with Deke at Georgetown.
My team is definitely the toughest to score against hands down.
