It really needs to be fully understood, that the entire reason that stock markets all over the globe are crashing, is because it is known that limiting free trade hurts all involved. This has been shown repeatedly throughout history. Even when Trump did his China tariff the first time, he had to bail out all the farmers.
Free trade is superior. Limiting it helps no one. We need to work WITH other countries, not against them.
Damn... market just did a massive swing.
Free trade is only fair if all countries follow the same regulations and pay.
Americans have to deal with EPA, OSHA, sustainable wages etc. to develop a product. I doubt those in other third world countries exporting their goods are dealt the same difficulties. They then have the audacity to tariff US goods on top of that? Nope, not anymore.

Obviously the way America is going, it is not sustainable Medicare, Social Security etc. will not be around unless drastic changes are made. I am glad to read many countries are trying to negotiate their way out. This means Trump brought them to the table to better our trade situation. About damn time.

The FED had to have an emergency meeting. I am sure people have talked Trump into at least slowing down. Which honestly, even pro-tariff people understand you can't just charge into this like a bull in a China shop. Tariffs should be very slowly eased into the system one at a time. Not the entire globe immediately all at once. Apparently even islands that don't have any inhabitants.

Or because other countries are contacting him to negotiate. Yesterday BBC.com stated at least 50 had contacted him. This is a huge W, a step in the right direction. Tariffs are always leverage for the world's greatest economy.
It looks like Bill Ackman (Billionaire Trump supporter) has turned on Trump and told him that his tariffs will cause "economic nuclear winter" and is urging him to stop.
This is exactly what I said. The oligarchs will only accept so much. We are seeing Elon Musk himself speak out as well. All of them together have a chance vs Trump's ego.

What are you talking about? There are plenty of things I dislike Trump for, such as the right position with Israel. The right's limiting of free speech, the right's stance on abortion etc.

Anybody with a brain could foresee tariffs would make the stock market dip... it interfers with trade. But this sacrifice is for the better good. It's to allow Americans who have standards (OSHA standards, EPA standards, Pay standards etc.) compete with those who make products without any barriers at the consequence of their health, the planet etc. ...and to make matters worse, they tariff our country.

Israel's exports of goods to the US, which include diamonds, machinery, optical devices, medicine, pharmaceuticals, and electronic equipment, amount to more than $22 billion as of last year.
We own the demand... we will always be able to leverage our market to outside suppliers. No president in the recent past has had the balls to utilize that leverage. They just allowed other countries to tariff the US and we looked the other way and ate it at the expense of US farmers and other manufacturers.
We are America. We need to use our economic force as much as our military.
Vehicle production IMO should be a permanent 25% tariff. We need to keep manufacturing in the USA for safety/wartime needs.
