Re: Magic Johnson" Your The Best Player in the World" (LeBron James)
Kobe is the better winner. Lebron is the better player. Phil Jackson is the better coach. Mike Brown is the worst of all of them.

Wow! I've never seen Magic get that crazy. It must of been about Kobe. Now, I'm surprised that he didn't wear a Celtics championship hat and say "Lebron is the best the wuuuuuuuuuurl, baby, best in the wuuuuuuuuuuuurl, Anything is possible!! . . . -pulls hat off and dust shoulder off looking serious- ... for a young man."
Re: Magic Johnson" Your The Best Player in the World" (LeBron James)
What does better "winner" even mean? That's honestly one of the weirdest labels I've ever seen. The better played is the better winner. One player can't be better at basketball while the other is better at winning at basketball. The one who can affect wins more is the better player. LeBron is that. Just because one player is put in a different situation and wins doesn't make him a "winner." That's just a vague label..
Let me explain something..
You're forgetting that everyone was saying the same things about kobe. When kobe was entering his peak. Kobe at 27 (equivalent to lbj at 25 minutes wise as far as I know or close) was scoring 81, going on 10 game streaks of scoring 40... 8 game streaks of 50.. It was insane. Everyone on the face of the planet when watching Kobe said the same things they are saying about Lebron now. To be honest at least from what I remember the hype was even more than what lbj has now. However circumstances change, and at some point you have to decide between stats and championships. Kobe put himself in a place to end up with 5-6 rings, where as he could have went for the stats and ended up with 4 max. When that question comes up to lebron (and I believe it is coming up this off season) will lebron choose the rings or the stats? Will lebron ask for an all star to guarantee contending for the next 5 years like Kobe did or will he be satisfied with losing in the east bracket for a couple years until his teammates develop (and I promise u, there will be a situation like this in lebrons career).
So in conclusion, we don't know who is gonna end up where on the all time list.. But right now, Kobe is higher than Lebron if both careers ended today and whoever wins this ring is making a MASSIVE push for t5 status.
kobe didn't place himself to get 5-6 rings.kobe is always been blessed with having really skilled big men from the start of his career. i don't think any swing men in the history of the nba has been as lucky as kobe. yes he is good really good but where would he be right know if shaq wasn't there or they didn't get pau for kawme. Think about it for a minute and u will see how lucky kobe has been over the course of his career. He would end up like charles barkley in terms of all time list. Not all players get the luck kobe has/had.
Again i am not taking anything away from him one of the most lethal scorers and closers of all time.

I agree that Kobe has the best shot (as of right now) of launching himself into a legitimate top 5/MJ comparison...but let's stop right there.
He could have went with stats and stayed at 4 rings? How do you figure? What does that even mean? He still LOVES to shoot and in a way, is still going for stats.
Kobe didn't place himself anywhere. Pau was gifted and that was the key to them winning...not Bynum, not Lamar, not anyone else. LeBron is no different...he wants great players to play around him. The difference is, there is no Pau out there that they can get for nothing. Jamison will do for now. It's also going to be interesting to see how Cleveland's talent develops...

quite true buddy, and even funnier is the little respect to Pau that being the mvp of the series so far everybody is talking about Kobe defense on Westbrook :lol I mean...thats what i call REAL LUCK (Kobe's)
No doubt Kobe is and has been one of the greatest. nobody can say no to that. but he bears no comparison to Lebron Today. they are just not at the same level. Actually NOBODY is at lebron's level. Lebron has not had a real talented team around him, thats all. making a "better-winner" label for Kobe out of that is the most absurd thing I have read in ages.
I have watched basketball for a few years already , like 25 at the very least, and the ONLY player that dominates all the aspects of the game almost as Jordan did is Lebron. it just takes to get your head out of Kobe's ass and watch some ball to realize this.
Re: Magic Johnson" Your The Best Player in the World" (LeBron James)
I laugh because if Magic were to type this out, he'd use the wrong "you're" as well.

I always laugh when idiots use the "skilled big man" excuse to diminish what Kobe has accomplished.....
Oscar Robertson spent the last 4 seasons of his career with not only the most skilled big man of all time, but ARGUABLY the greatest player of all time and wins only 1 championship yet this guy gets slobbed up to like 5th on the all time and no one mentions this.....
Lets not forget that he even spent his last 5 years on Cincinatti with Jerry Lucas, a guy who averaged over 20 ppgs and 20 rpg for the span of those 5 years and what does he do? HE MISSES THE PLAYOFFS 3 YEARS IN A ROW! Yet we never hear these clowns.
What about Magic who spent most of his career with Kareem?...Or Stockton?.....Comments like this is what has made me so defensive of guys like Kobe, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Tiger Woods, A.Rod, etc.
I have never seen an athlete who has had so many morons quick to diminish every aspect of his career.

:applause: This is the most accurate post i've seen in this thread.
When Kobe went on that tear from 2005-07 when he was breaking records and accomplishing feats comparable to only Wilt, Elgin, and Mj.....the same talks we hear about LeBron having this potential to be GOAT was applied to Kobe.
The same thing even happened with Shaq back from 1993-1996.....Its about HYPE.
While I do think LeBron is EASILY the best in the game today, I find it laughable when I hear some homers seriously say things like "Kobe has never been as good as LeBron has been these past 2 years"......I find a hard time taking anyone who would make such an asinine statment like that serious. If people would really realize what Kobe was doing in that 2 year span, they would understand why I think statements like that is ridiculous in my opinion.

Kobe best two years could be compared to lEBRON's last two years but they were not as good.. Lebron has won at a much higher level.. ANd last year won 66 games with Mo as his best sidekick.. I have never seen Kobe or any other player do something like that... So no I don't think Kobe's best is as good as Lebron's last two years... Kobe didn't prove anything to me with his just ok playoffs in those two years.. With all the scoring he was doing in the regular season his playoff numbers went down...
As for Lebron getting that great sidekick.. It isn't going to be as easy as getting players to play in SUNNY LA.LA LAND...

Just ok playoffs???? Kobe averaged 27.9 ppg 6.3 rpg 5.1 apg ( 5 apg with Kwame Brown, Chris Mihn, and Smush as teammates btw) on nearly 50% shooting in the 2006 playoffs......his ppg was the only thing that went down so where did you get this myth that his production went down?....and in the 2007 playoffs he averaged 33 ppg/ 5.2 rpg/4.4 apg on 46% shooting...And those were worst teams than any team LeBron ever had in a more competitive conference.
And not as good? Kobe Bryant pulled off a season that had not been seen since Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor!.....Most of the records, milestones, etc he accomplished those 2 seasons had not been seen in as many as 40 years!
Yes LeBron won at a higher level, but are you going to sit here and say it didnt have anything to do with his role players??
